ive been anticipating the release of the krazr and holding out, however, after reading some of the reviews, im kinda skeptical about it...a few of the major attractions are the battery life (not a big deal though), the memory card slot, and the size...so is it worth it to wait for sprint to release it or does anybody have any other suggestions for an alternative??

From what I've read on the Sprint version of the phone, they have a much (MUCH) better Interface than the verizon version. I'm on the fence myself about buying it til I get to check that out (I work for a Sprint 3rd Party retailer). The other issues people mention are mostly related to it being a Verizon phone (ie, stripping capabilities from it, which Sprint and Alltell don't do).

I got to play with a Motorola verison of this phone back in August, non carrier changed, and I really liked it's feel and menu. Hope that helps

it did, thank you 🙂 but yes, any other information u find out or opinions u form about it based on seeing it, please inform me...i also used to work for a 3rd party realtor for sprint, but it was before they thought of getting any of the motorola phones. since ur around it a lot, what are ur thoughts of the sanyo katana?? overall, it seems liek a good phone to me, however, im not too fond of the fact that it doesnt have a memory card in it.

Katana is an OK mid level phone. It's not fully featured like a Samsung 900 (blade) or the Mot KRZR nor is it as "sexy" of a phone. Of course, it's not as expensive either.

Two big differences:
1) KRZR is Dual band with Power vision. Katana is tri-band without Power Vision (meaning it works on the old Analogue network too, ie, bigger coverage area)

2) KRZR is Multimedia oriented (MP3 player, fast download speeds, stereo bluetooth to stream music, memory card slot). Katana is function oriented (slim profile, bluetooth, speakerphone).

So, to pick based on these 4 issues, I'd recommend the following between those 2 phones:

Cost = Katana
Style = KRZR
Coverage in rural america = Katana
Toys = KRZR

It's available on the Sprint website as of today! And, IMO....it's usually not a good idea to compare the opinions of VZW users to the opinions of Sprint users. If you research the reviews of a phone that is shared between the two carriers....more often than not you'll find that the majority of the negative reviews come from VZW users. It's comparing apples to oranges really. The differences between the two carriers when it comes to UI's and the crippling of handsets, etc...it's just not a fair comparison. 😎

lol, im not gonna lie, its pretty sweet. the only thing is getting used to the texting, im not as fast as i was on my other phone...ummm, and all the technology, im just learning how to use it cuz im not familiar with it, my previous phone was a sanyo vi2300, REALLY basic. other than that tho, i love it so far! o, and the whole smudging of the front thing, i kept the sticker on all today but it got kinda ghetto lookin so i just put scotch tape on it to hold me over till i get a shield for it. but yea, i love it so far, ill keep u updated tho 🙂

I just got the krzr from sprint. Its an awesome phone i love this thing, but just a few things. The UI is a bit slow. Especially when trying to send out text messages. This all is solvable with a firmware upgrade. When streaming Sirius and you close the handset it stops playing. No a2dp support what so ever kind of upsetting. Other than that this phone rocks all the way around.

Another thing i noticed that sprint needs to fix and i mean quick. I got a call waiting and all i heard was the beep no caller id information. I test this out about 3 times to see if it was just a mistake Nope its a software issue.
