I have a V710, and I'm a little apprehensive about getting a new phone with the VZW UI. Without any flaming of VZW, can I have a brief description of how different the VZW UI is / how much worse it is?

its really not that bad people on here are just mad that vzw is taking away some of our freedom. Your going to have to get it eventually so if your interested in this phone go for it. by the way the krzr feels so much better in my pocket then the v710 ever could.

The Verizon UI is admittedly simple to use, but the big differences are in customization and layout. The font size for the contacts and menus is quite small, which could be annoying. No longer are menus icon based as with previous Motorolas, but rather text only that you toggle left and right through. In addition, you can't change the color of the red bars across the top and bottom. The V710 allows 6-7 color choices so this may take an adjustment. Some applications that the Motorola interface had have been removed on the Verizon UI as well, such as quick texts, the shortcuts folder, the ability to change the softkeys, and the ringer profiles.
