Motorola KRZR K1m
Does it have PC sync??
that's a strong selling point, at least to me, between this and the 8600 choco.
"PC Sync allows the user to connect the phone to a computer with a cable and synchronise calendar and contact information between the phone and a computer application such as Outlook."
The Motorola V3C also stated this, yet it required MPT and that did NOT support calendar syncing supposedly due to VZW firmware.

Compare the V3c and the K1m side-by-side and look at the difference on PC Sync and SyncML.
Encouraging, but no guarantee. A better assurance will be when you can find the users manual.

What's discouraging is that MPT does not list the K1M as a supported phone (yet) and that I've had no success finding a SyncML application that will work with Outlook and this phone. Extended Systems XTNDConnect PC Version only works with a small number of phones, none of which are Motorola.
I really feel that Motorola is missing the boat on this one. MPT is, and has been, woefully inadequate and reliable (just check out their support forums) and it seems like Motorola doesn't care that their reputation is diminished by partnering with Avanquest for the sync software.
I know that this forum tends to care less about this feature than ringtones, wallpapers, and music playback but there are tons of business professionals who re...

I don't sync with outlook as there is way to much garbage in my outlook to do that.
But MPT works fine for me for backing up my personal calendar and phone contacts.
I like that pics and flix are on my memory chip, just wish the ringtones I purchased would reside there as well.

MPT was much more reliable.

Can we assume MPT will update shortly to recognize KRZR? And yes, I know what "assume" stands for! 😉
I don't know of any handsets that Motorola has skipped.
IMO, using MPT is a scary proposition. More often than not, it does not work and had been responsible for corrupting many Outllok databases. If you think I am just whining, go ahead and check out the MPT forums on www. bvrpforums.com. You will find MANY people who feel the same way that I do - that is that it is almost criminal that Motorola conitues to rely on MPT, the most unreliable piece of "software" I have ever used.
Ideally, Moto...
