GSM 850 & Unlocking

I was wondering...will the T-Mobile Sidekick III have GSM 850?

Also, does anyone know if this will be a tough phone to get unlocked?

Help me decide !

Ok, I want to buy sidekick 3 but I'm not sure. In Poland there are no sidekicks , so I will need to buy it from , I guess, USA or UK. Before I will do it I need to be sure that I will be happy with using sidekick 3. I was searching for opinions of others and the comments were good as weel as bad. The bad ones discouraged me to buy it but I really want it ! I'm not gonna give up so easly. I need a pro opinion of users of Sidekick 3. But honest opinion! Tell me everything about sidekick (bad and good things). Please.

NEW S!DEK!CKS

T-Mobile also might be getting another phone to add to their Sidekick selection. It is apparently called the "Sidekick Slide". From the pictures that have been released the Sidekick Slide looks to look like the same swivel screen and full QWERTY keyboard. This time the keypad is made of hard plastic buttons although the shape is in circles. The color scheme of the phone seems to be in black and purple. It has 1.3 Mega Pixel camera. It looks to be thinner the sidekick 3 all around. It also might have been designed by Motorola because the left side of the phone features a Motorola logo. It also had a t-mobile badge on the other right side. Other features that this is rumored to have is bluetooth, and MP3 player with a memory card slot. It look...

Any Users with Cingular?

Have any of you used this phone with Cingular's network? Im planning on buying it unlocked on ebay, and i wanted to make sure what features will work on Cingulars network. Im pretty much only wanting to make calls, text, go on AIM, and go on the Web. If any of you have used this phone on Cingulars Network or know somebody that has used the sidekick 3 on cingulars network....please help!...thanks!

Took Longer then I thought

When Cingular bought ATT that left suncom on its own. I figured tmobile would have bought them earlier as they have no coverage in NC and most of SC. I think its great for tmobile to be able to move into two hole states without haveing to build out a network in both states.

Bandwagon

Its about time T-mo jumped on the bandwagon. How hard is it to write an app for myspace???

Helio and AT&T realized the value of this evil long ago.

I am a loyal T-mo customer, but i wish they would jump on the bandwagon faster, or better yet CREATE their own bandwagon.

What about speed...?

Do the data speeds on T-Mobile even make it worth it? I'm a T-Mobile user and prefer their company to all the other providers, but they don't have 3G so would MySpace even be plausible on their network? Even on 3G phones, MySpace is clunky because it is so heavily picture/video oriented.

The amount of data downloaded is just too much to really function well on a phone (and I don't want a thousand people saying "Well it works great on my blah, blah, blah...." I know that everyone thinks they have the best phone out there)! ๐Ÿ™„

Former Suncom Employee perspective

I worked at Suncom from 2001- August 2003, I loved working for them and enjoyed the small team spirit that we shared in Financial services. I met some life long friends while working there ( Chris, Don, etc). After leaving Suncom I have worked for every major cell phone provider and the team spirit that I loved at Suncom has never been duplicated... Verizon comes close. The problem with Suncom early on was that relied to heavily on Sales and not retention of customers, and that the company execs worked in a totally different state and to me mismanaged company resources.

I hope the very best to all the employees at Suncom and that buyout helps you guys out.

My view (extended.)

I mentioned this in the Suncom forum so might as well put it in this one also. Just wanted to note that T-mobile USA is purchasing this company for the amount I mentioned. $1.6B for outstanding shares and $.8B of debt. To a total of $2.4B. There will be synergies of $1b so that will basically mean that the purchase was $1.4B. moreover, the purchase allows for more capacity onto its network by up to 20 million customers. makes each subscriber that Sun has, which is 1.1 million, on the $1.4B net purchase price, for $1,272 per subscriber, which is cheap. Without the synergies in place it would cost $2,181 per subscriber, which is also a pretty cheap valuation.

(I said Synergies again. ๐Ÿคฃ )
