Sony Ericsson W810

Hi,

According to Sony Ericsson, the camera button on the phone takes you to the camera utility when the phone is in standby mode.

Pressing my camera button does absolutely nothing when my phone goes to slee. Maybe that's what's wrong.

I need someone to confirm that the camera button doesn't take you to the camera utility when the phone's in sleep mode.

Any advice would be greatly appreciate.

is the talk and ring volume on this phone as low as every one says it is?

Just got my new phone from Cingular, and it goes black in 3 seconds. Not enough time for me. I can't find a fix. Is there one?

did i misunderstand, or does this phone have a 512MB limit as far as the cards its able to use?

If I set my Walkman to shuffle, it only plays one song, and then stops, the screen says "failed" and I have to play another one manually. Sometimes after the initial failure, it works for a few songs, but sometimes not. Any one else have this problem, or know how to fix it?

Hi, I just got my 4gig memory stick pro duo tonight, and I put it in my phone and do the format M.S. function through the phone.

But it didnt set any file system on the memory stick, it just shows up as a blank folder in windows. When I put files on it and put it in my phone, none of the files can be found on the phone, you cant see them. this is after i unplugged from the USB and let the phone turn back on.

So I copied all the stuff from the 128mb it came with from cingular onto my desktop, then formatted again and put it on the 4gig. So it had all the same files as the 128. I still couldnt see anything once the memory stick was back in the phone, but everything shows up fine in windows!

Alright I installed the right internet settings from cingular, and am finally able to access the internet (download games, ringtones etc.)thanks! My next question is does this phone have a "flash" player? When I try to watch say a video from "youtube", or "MTV.com" It says flash site, but I am unable to download a flashplayer. Is it possible to watch these type of videos on this phone at all?If so, can someone tell me how?" Thanks so much for your help.

Every retailer has told me that there is no way to use a standard headset (2.5mm jack, for mic and mono sound) with the W810i, that not even a third party makes headset adapter for this one.

Is that correct? If not, where do I get the adapter?

While I'm at it, do I understand correctly that the W810 includes a connector that a standard 3.5 stereo audio jack, one that I can plug any standard headphones or earbuds into?

I have an unlocked 810, that I use with Cingular, but I don't know how to access Cingular's MediaNet(?) I'd like to be able to download games, watch tv, etc, but when I try to do these things (eg Iplay 24 game) I get "communication error, operation failed") Can anyone help me with this, and tell me how to set it up right. I went to the SE site, and did everything there, but am still having problems.

ok so you guys know how the w810 backlight stays on the for the WHOLE time you are talking on the phone with someone.?!

well if you go to your adress book, recent calls, or almost anything in the menu, while talking the backlight turns off after like 3 seconds!!!

this extends your talk time A LOT.

so i got rid of the error saying the file could no longer be used since i messed up with the date i needed to put in the DRM.


now the real problem is that it wont let me use the song i have put on as a ringtone. i can play it and everything but cant apply it as a ringtone, i even tried changing it to a midi ???

so i followed the tutorial on using the DRM program (the one found on that lasyk website)

everything seems fine, i hit the "create DRM content" and it says its succesful, but nothing appears in the output folder that it says it should go to???

I asked a Cingular Store sales rep about locked vs. unlocked, and she said that although an unlocked phone is useful if I'm on the US/Canadian border, generally I won't know when my phone has switched to a non-Cingular service, possibly resulting in surprise roaming charges. She said there's no way to limit an unlocked phone to Cingular's network, and the phone won't tell me who I'm using (or if I'm talking, I may not notice, I'm not sure what she meant).

Is this correct?

How long can I set the phone to ring before it goes to voicemail? I need at least 25 sec, or the deal's off.

On my current Verizon phone, the duration depends on how long a ringtone I choose. And in another phone forum here, I've read that Cingular can set the duration for up to a minute (am a little skeptical about that... and some salespeople will tell you anything).

I'm concerned because discussions of uploading mp3 as ringtones seem to say that about 15 seconds is the max length.

I'd like to create my own custom ringtone (not a commercial song), but will settle for anything that's long, dignified and easy to hear in a noisy environment.

Just like the title asks I know motorola has out a set of bluetooth headphones that allows you to make and recieve calls from the headphones as well as listen to your music can we use this or something simular with the w810?

i could be wrong but my head phones came stranger than i am used to. you know how they break off (split) into the left and right cords...well my LEFT cord is about half the lenth or less compared to the RIGHT and the cord that has the jack to connect is the same length as the RIGHT cord. Is this correct? i am just used to the LEFT and RIGHT being the same length.

Do you understand what i am tryin to explain?
