squeeky body w810i

i have had the w810i a few days and...i really like it. i'm not a big phone freak, but it had the requirments i needed: european bands, small size, lots of storage, etc.

one thing i notice is the body seems squeeky using the control pad buttons. especially the silver 4 way button. not a huge deal, but i thought the build quality would be a few steps closer to an ipod.

are they all like this?

no psp menu icons... /;|

I really liked the menu icons I saw in the preview and was really diappointed to see them not change between themes once I got my phone. Any idea why? Did the preview phone you guys got have some newer firmware/OS on it than the one that shipped with my phone? Or is my service provider just a lamo that tweaked the default setting to pix it to one set of icons so that they can have their own crap on the menu (Rogers Mall). I'm with Rogers. What did other Rogers customers and folk with other service providers experience?...

Hi I need a phone that will play I-Tunes encoded music in your video you stated that this phone will

Hi I need a phone that will work with I-Tunes. In your video you stated that this phone will. Further you mentioned it will play apples AAC files. If so I will buy it, but I have no way of knowing for sure. Could you confirm this capability. Other wise I will have to get the Razr V3i to play my I-Tunes because they are AAC encoded. The Razr V3i seems to have less capabilities as compared to the w810. I realize the w810 may not work directly in I-Tunes but being able to play AAC songs would be huge. As I have invested a lot of money in my music and caring around one less item is what I'm after.

A2DP Compatible

Is this phone A2DP compatible? My 6682 is, and after having that feature, it would be hard to give it up. I love listening to my mp3's via Bluetooth, at work I can still help customers, but listen to my music at the same time.

Advice/Opinions

Hi guys. I am thinking about getting this phone if it is released by Cingular. Never been a big SE fan. Mostly Nokia, and specifically S60. I have had the 6682 since September, and before that had the 6620 for a year. I did try the s710 on my 2nd line but it had just horrible reception in my area. Even the 8 sales people at my local Cingular store agreed it was one of the worst reception phones they had ever seen. One in particular now has the W600i and says its better so maybe this one will be as well. I'm willing to try ๐Ÿ™‚ soooooooo....how do you guys like your W810's?? How is the built in IM client for yahoo? I have never seen one that is as good as whats included in the Yahoo Go! program I have now on my 6682. You can even do the audible...

Question on buying w810i

a few sellers with ebay stores are $125 less than buying direct from SE. any concerns going this route? also, does the over the air firmware updates work? i'm on a mac, and it would be a pain to update via a pc...

and if i wait for cingular to release, would unlocking be easy?

any other tips/preferred sellers would be helpful.

This is gonna be my next phone!

I'm in love with it and I haven't even held it in my hands yet. ๐Ÿ˜ I have some questions though. Is the screen on this phone brighter than that on the w600i. I can tell is bigger, but is it as bright as let's say the RAZR? ๐Ÿ˜• I like bright screens a lot and that was the reason the w600i had to go back โ˜น๏ธ Also, how are the headphones on this phone? Are they as awkward as the ones on the w600i?

Rumor about release date

I've been waiting very patiently since March to find out when this phone will be released on cingular. first they said Q2. I also read on Mobiledia.com that it was being drooped Q3. I researched, asked around, and still no real answer. When I returned my W600i because of WSOD, I made friends with a customer care manager from Cingular in Oklahoma City. He just called me today to inform me that fathers day could be the big day we all have been waiting for....but please do not quote me on this... Cingular does have a reputation for holding back release dates. I just really hope this phone comes out ASAP.

If anyone else has any release date rumors, post them on this thread.

Will Cingular carry this?

Anyone know if Cingular will carry this phone? If so anyone know when it will be available? I almost cannot stand to use my current v220 phone any longer. About to chuck it 500 yards. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

I was thinking about getting the w600 as an upgrade but I hear the w800 is better all around (and thus the w810 even more so) anyone else attest to this?

Thanks! ๐Ÿ˜

W810i or Fusic with Sprint ?

I have been waiting for a good music phone and can go with either a GSM provider or Sprint if I choose the Fusic. I had my mind set on the SE w810i with the drawbacks of not supporting FM trasmitter or stereo Bluetooth headsets. I seen the other post about FM transmit not being the greatest and would like to hear more about that, is it poor qaulity or distorted that makes it only so so ? Does it compare to tape qaulity playback ?

The other deciding point is the stereo bluetooth headset, how does that qaulity compare to wired headset ? would love to get rid of the wires but if the sound takes a big hit I would choose dealing with the wires.

ANyone have experience or compared these two phones ?

question: will w810i work with t-mobile in US?

hey,

I'm considering buying the phone because from the reviews and everything it looks simply amazing, but I can't help but be hesitant bout dishin out the $$ if i'm not sure it'll work on my network.

I called both Sony Ericsson and T-Mobile and they both more or less guaranteed me the phone would work as a phone considering the 850Mhz band. T-Mobile on their website has network configurations for the W800 and the W900 but are lacking one for this model, however Sony said that their setup tool online would be able to configure it no problem and that the internet features would work fine as well. Since the T-Mobile guy tried to get me to continue using only their phone and the Sony guy obviously wanted me to buy their phone I'm hoping s...

Okay I'm obsessed

Seriously, I can't be the only one. Last night, I lay in bed trying to figure out if I could wait until Cingular got this phone, or should I just suck it up and plunk down $500 for an unlocked phone? I check like 4 different websites multiple times a day to see if there is any new news release. Does anyone really know if and when Cingular will get this phone? Or, what are the pro's to buying an unlocked? Please Please help me.
