Messengers on the 8700g

Hi, looking at an 8700g or a Sidekick 3. How is MSN messenger and Yahoo Messenger on the 8700? Does it stay logged in and quick to enter messages and reply etc?

Going Crazy!

Once I decided to research all of these blackberries and treos and the Q, etc... I feel like I've been losing my mind! I wanted to upgrade to a PDA/smartphone for a while now. I could really use it for the calendar, organizational help and email (but I don't primarily need email for business, it would just be for personal use). After reading tons of reviews and waiting for the "best" phone to come out (b/c now I'm afraid the minute I get one a new, better one will come out), I still have no idea what to get! I would like to get something with GSM (not that I'm Europe that often, but when I go I would like to be able to use my phone) but, I have Verizon so it's hard to come by. I like the blackberry, but there's no camera on it and I wou...

Questions about the 8700

I presently have the Treo 650 Cingular and everything is fine with it except the VOLUME. Driving at 75 MPH the road noise is louder than the ring volume. If the radio or AC is on, you can't hear a caller. I was thinking of switching to the 8700 on Cingular.
Questions:
How is the volume on the earpiece, speakerphone, and bluetooth headset (different phones will have different volumes on the same headset) in noisy conditions?
Call sound quality (both ways)?
Ringer volume?
Will the 8700 play videos, games?
Signal strength?
How is navigation of the phone book, stored files, etc compare to the Treo?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Bluetooth troubles

I am having an issue where my BB links with my BT headset and then constantly loses and regains the BT connection. I have it set to link as a "trusted" device, and I ave tried 3 different headsets. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

SIM card compatible to Razr V3?

I am considering a Blackberry 8700, but would like to swap the BB SIM into the Razr when travelling in rural areas (amp and antenna connection in car).

Will the BB SIM work OK in an unlocked Razr? Will using it in the Razr cause any issues when it is back in the BB? 😕

8700 or 7100??

I am in a debate whether to get the 8700 or stick with my 7100g! I'm on Cingular and was just curious the difference. I like the full QWERTY keyboard of the 8700 and the display looks 10x's better than the 7100, but honestly is it worth the change???

Thanks.... 😁

Blackberry and Outlook?

Not familiar with BBerry, however I use Outlook at work. I understand this BBerry can access Outlook email with the right setup/software, however can you access your folders etc? After readying and email, can you then store it in a folder that you set up on your desktop. Or is this system just a read and reply system, where you have to go back to your desktop later and file the emails you've received? Would appreciate any help, before I consider getting this BBerry vs. Windows Mobile device.

Manualy getting email

Love the blackberry. A little better than the treo 650.

One problem though, I want to get my external email only when I want it. There is no option to do it manually that I can find. The BB only does it at 15 minute intervals as far as I know.

Anyone know how to change this or to do a workaround on it?

Thanks

8700c on cingular with data plan question?

I want to get an 8700c but not use the 45.00/month data plan or any of the date plans that cingular says the pda phones need.
I currently have the 19.99 mediaworks package that includes inet and text msg. I have used a treo 650(locked to cingular), an unlocked 8125(before cingular released their version), and am now currently using a p910a. Cingular says I cant get on the inet without the data plan on a PDA phone which I have done before...so my question is can i get on the inet with a 8700c using my mediaworks package and if so, do i get charged extra?

email / spam

I've never owned a blackberry so I have a question about spam on this device. How does this phone handle spam.... or doesn't it? Like many of us, I get a ton of spam and would find it extremely painful to have to delete all the same spam twice. Once on the device and the other on my work computer when I return to the office. And when deleting unwanted mail is it fairly easy to delete items in large quantities versus going one by one?

I also have a question regarding backing up my contacts. Is there any way to back up data on a mac?

sync problem-PLEASE HELP

I was given an 8700g from work, this is an upgrade from the 7100g.
I love the Blackberry and use the desktop manger software that comes in the box. It worked SOMETIME on with the 7100. Now I cannot get this to work at all and I am ready to throw this computer out the window.
I have re-installed the software MANY times and have hooked my MP3 player, Nokia 6682, AND digital camera up to my computer via usb and they all work FINE!
If I hook the 8700 up..NOTHING! After ten minutes my Computer will recgonize my 8700..it will say "Found new hardware" than it will say "new hardware ready to use"
When I go into the desktop manager..NOTHING..it will not find my handheld.
I have also checked into the connection settings in the Desktop manger....

Using EDGE with a Laptop

Does anybody know if there is some way to hook an 8700C up to my laptop so I can go online using the 8700 as a sort of wireless EDGE "modem"?

I'd like to avoid buying a separate PC Card EDGE modem if possible for the few times a month I need to get online in the field with my laptop.

Any thoughts?
