T809 Mac OS compatibility

I love everything about this phone except what I've dug up about it's syncing with contacts in the Mac OS. I've heard that it can be troublesome, is this true? How well does it transfer over bluetooth and/or USB on a Mac if it does at all? I personally don't care for music on my phone, but pictures are a plus. How well do pictures transfer using a Mac?

Can't use MP3 as ringtones? True/False?

I've heard that you can't use your MP3's as ringtones. Does anyone have solid evidence on whether or not this statement is true/false?

Battery Life and Ringtones

Wondering if anyone could shed some light on the realistic battery life of this phone (they are never what the manufacturer claims) I use the Black Razr with T-Mo and it barely makes it through the day (average about 3-4 hours a day on the cell). Also hearing some rumors about not being able to apply the MP3's to your ringtone settings...is this true? (kinda used to using my MP3 clips from walmart.com for my Razr) If thats the case would you then be forced to only use T-Mo's selection of Hi-Fi ringers? Any clarity on these questions would be awesome!!

Officially Peeved....

Here's a short review of the phone:

The Good:
Really nice, crisp clear screen - nice photos and video shots. The sound is great and the reception is premium, so far. There's lots of space, 70 in total, including a 32 meg TF card (which does indeed come with a SD adapter, for those who have an SD card reader handy). Samsung includes the cable and the software. It's a great phone, but will take some getting used to if you've owned anything else. Despite what you may read, the phone does have a few profiles built in that you can assign people to. You can also ofcourse, assign each person/number a pic and a tone. None of my fears came to fruition, the phone does not open easily in the pocket and every time you close it, it locks automaticall...

A keeer

Well I finally got my phone 😁 and its great! I havent found a reason to take it back and i made sure to put the insurance on it.

I love it. The screen, the bluetooth, the speaker . . . . I got everything I wanted

Just that i dont like that cant use mp3 as ringtones and i have to keep using tmo well wack ringtones. But I can deal with it. The screen smears as much as the razr, and it has no voice dial. ☚ī¸ 🙄
And i ran ito a little problem with my wallpaper. I emailed a pic to my phone and I applyed it as my wall paper, it was so small! but i figured out how to inlarge the pic to fit the screen!
But other than that, this phone is a keeper!

Nice Phone

Weel, after waiting for this phone to show, I just went ahead and bought the old archaic V3. I like the phone, don't get me wrong, but there were certain things I could get passed. No voice dial, the head set is very propietary with no adapter in sight (I have special ear fitted headphones I use for my MP3 player), no data capacity, no the ring tone thing, T-Mobile already said they didn't think they would have an earphone adapter and Samsung doesn't even list accessories for it on their site, apparently T-Zones with this phone would still be no better than the T722i I have, and it costs 300 bucks. Well, 250 if I was will to commit to 2 years, which I'm not. So, for 100 bucks after rebate, I get a good phone with BT. What can I say, the...

Can't get PC Studio to recognize USB connection

This is really frustrating as I keep all of my contacts in Outlook.

I cannot get PC Studio to recognize that the phone is connected via USB. Windows XP sees it, but PC Studio.

Anyone have a clue?

Camera - help me understand

I have no problem with the quality of the shots, but what I cannot get past is that what you see in the view finder when framing the shot is not what ends up in the actual picture. So, lets say you frame a person's face in the view finder and snap the pic, what you actually end up with is the person's face and a whole lot of surrounding background that you didn't want.

I have had camera phones before, but I don't remember seeing this effect. Can anyone explain?
My wife has a different Samsung camera phone and it does the same thing.

Wish t809 was data

Been trying to decide if I want to switch to this phone. I have a blackberry 7290 at the moment and its just a bit big. The 809 is awsome in all areas, including ringtones and mp3 playing. But the only thing holding me back is data. I love the ability to send/receive emails on my phone and dont know if I can go without this feature. IF only the 809 was a ddata phone also......it would be the perfect phone.

phone sounds great and all but.. (Razr V3i vs. T809)

does it hold good reception? can u hear calls clearly? how about battery life?

i'm glad to hear t-mo's finally got a cool phone, but i hope they don't forget the "phone" part of it... 😕

i will be either renewing my t-mo contract and get this phone.... OR i may switch to Cingular to get the Razr V3i when that comes out. whichever comes out on top.

Hahaha to all T-Mob haters

Finally some phones to shut up all you doubters and haters who thinks T-Mobile has no good high-end phones. This one is way sicker then the RAZR, PEBL (another T-Mo exclusive), or V360. Samsung coming for that NUMBER ONE SPOT!!

Wow, Great Phone

🙂 I just went to test it out yesterday at a T-mobile store. Its great. Love the look. Only thing is the buttons are small, but i have small fingers so i can get use to it. I have a v330, and i love my phone but believe me when i say that after I saw this im going to be replacing it! and giving my phone to someone who needs it. this is a winner! I will miss my v330 though đŸ˜ĸ
