Video Files ?????

Hi all, I know that you can rename your .mp3 files .3gp to set them as ringtones from your computer. I was wondering if anybody knew if there was a way to the do the same thing but with video files. I keep trying to get a .wmv files to load on the phone, and it doesn't work at all. Any ideas???

t809 vs lg vx9800?

Any direct comparisons of these two phones? Does t-mobile have any other phones I should consider? I was leaning towards the rim-7105 before the t809 came out but would like a camera on board - I have a digital SLR for serious picture taking but it would be nice to have a decent cameraphone for snap shots when I don't want to lug a camera around.

I've been with t-mobile just over 3 years, one handset the entire time (sgh-105) which is slowly becoming useless (both screens dying requiring reboot and low battery life). I like my T-mobile plan although I suspect I'd get better coverage with Verizon.

Anyone had any luck getting the t809 at a more reasonable price? I'd like to think 3 years would get me something but I never had much lu...

Phonebook and other memory issues...

I'm planning on exchanging phones with the 30-day phone exchange deal because sometimes people can't hear me and I get cut off. Now if all my phonebook entries are on the phone and not on the SIM card, anyway I can save the entries and put them on my new phone? I've though of just writing all 203 of them down and manually putting them back in but other than that? I need to exchange my phone today/tomorrow so please let me know quickly! Thank you!

Ringtone Questions??

In my opinion, mp3 ringtones aren't very loud. Now to fix this I tried to set the volume to 150-200% when I cut the mp3 song so that when I loaded it in my phone, it would have double loudness. Although now loud, the ringtone quality sounds scratchy. Maybe it's the bass on the song that makes it sound so bad so maybe I need to use a diff program that controls volume, bass, and edits the audio clip. Anybody any suggestions to increase volume without jeopardizing sound quality? 😳

using mp3's as ringtones

a lot of people have been complaining that they can't use their mp3's as ringtones. that they can play it, but when trying to choose it as a ringtone, the song is greyed out.

i can't tell you that this works for sure 100% b/c i actually don't have the phone for myself. but i do have a friend who works for samsung in the wireless division, and the t809 was one of the phones that they had worked on. this is what one of their engineers told me.

there is a work around for custom mp3's on the t809. as long as you download the mp3 from a wap site (for those that don't know, wap is wireless access protocol. it's like IP for the phone, or wireless industry/technology. just another protocol, so instead of regular website, they call the s...

T809 Vs....

In light of this mechanical cellphone disaster, I'd let to get some opinions on my next cell phone.

Tmobile has nothing I'd want at the moment. I can't settle for the Razr again (great phone but the lack memory and mp3 player)

I really like the mpx220 as my next phone so we'll see. But I'd also like some recommendations for good phones.

My requirements:

Extended memory (minisd/transflash)
Bluetooth
UNLOCKED Mp3 ringtones
Mp3 player
Voice Dialing

I'd also like it to use miniusb connectors rather than proprietary but that's not a requirement. And I'd rather a clamshell or slider. I really don't like brick phones.

TransFlash Adapter

I got the SanDisk T-Flash adapter with my phone, now I don't know where it goes. It's too big for the right side slot where it says "t-flash". It appears that something can be pulled out of the t-flash disk on the bottom of it but I can't seem to pull it out. Help please??

Opera Mini

Does everyone else get the java security exception when trying to navigate anywhere in Opera Mini? I think this is a problem with the software and not the phone, since all the security settings are set to allow web access 😕

btw, if you haven't heard of opera mini you can get it at http://mini.opera.com

Err?

I was transferring all of my contacts from my sim to the phone's memory, but I couldn't find an option to transfer all the contacts from the phone to the sim card.

I looked on t-mobile's website and in the manual, but can't find any help. Anyone know how to make the phone copy all the contacts to the sim or will I have to do it one by one?

To the "power" and regular phone users

I appreciate reading what everyone has to say about this phone and when people pick the phone apart about MP3's, battery life, and synching I keep it in perspective. You guys keep the manufacturers on their toes, thanks. For the rest of us regular phone users who realize this is a phone first that has camera, video, mp3 and other great features that we will sometimes use, you will not be disappointed. When I first received it I ran the battery down playing with all the features--especially the great video and camera. In real life without overusing the camera, screen, or video (and as for playing mp3's--get and IPod) I get 3+ hours of talk between charges. This phone has a great WOW factor. I admit it, I am a phone whore who needs the newest ...

t809 from a power user

I've been told by PDA manufacturers and cell phone manufacturers that I push the envelope. T-Mobile techs know me by number 🙂

I picked up a t809 today to replace my h6315 iPAQ that I broke. I'm picking up an HP iPAQ PDA tomorrow.

The t809 synced with my laptop in mere seconds, and the EDGE networking is definitively faster -- MUCH faster.

I started a blog about the phone as well, as I intend to push it as far as is humanly possible. I didn't even know about this phone until I went through a little difficulty with a Motorola phone. Props to T-Mobile for steering me towards a phone I'd never have looked at.

Battery Life

Is it me or is the bat life terrible! Made 3 calls today, bat dropped a bar. Left it alone for about 7 hours, phone was dead! Is this what everyone is getting or do I just have a defect? Thoughts?
