Samsung SGH-D357

Cingular reps got this phone to test out the PTT system and it is as good as advertised. This phone as loud as any nextel you'll ever hear. The bluetooth is not limited to just headsets. It plays loud, crisp mp3 tones. And the internet is surprisingly fast. The only thing that this phone lacks is a camera. Oh yeah and it has 16MB or memory...

Wish it had at least a 1.3mp camera....then I would def. go w/ this phone 😢 Guess I will keep waiting. PTT has been delayed for like the millionth time from Cingular anyway.

I've been waiting to check this one out. Cool it has bluetooth and EDGE but too bad it has no camera. Oh well, I'll take it! 😁

I'm forwarding calls from my motorola v551 to my d357. Is there anyway to forward text and picture messages?

I just Got this phone on Thursday.

It is pretty nice I'm used to Motorola's but this is a good solid phone. PTT does work through the bluetooth, but the button on phone must be pressed. Edge is decent in my area. Other than that the phone works similar to the previous Samsung lineup that Cingular has offered in the past. Voice Commands works well but haven't played with much


Cons:
No Camera
Convert to cellular only converts on your end.
Speaker Volume in Cellular calls is a bit low.
(PTT is Super Loud)
No Speaker Phone (which seems a bit odd)

I believe the display is a QVGA, no 128x160 as described.

i just talked to the guy from cingular and this phone is out on the 15th of this month when they launch there push to talk service.
but we know how they are, they rarely know whats going on.

Low rez screen, boxy form factor, and for some reason Samsung seems to enjoy putting random black lenses on their Cingular clamshells. Ew.

Add a camera, color external display, and an 18 bit screen. Removable memory, and shape it more like...say...the a500 for sprint. I promise, you will have a winner.
