Screens off when in standby and on calls

I just got my A920 about 2 weeks ago. I love the phone, but there is one thing that is really irritating me! Whenever the phone is in standby (i.e. not on a call) the outside screen powers down no matter what settings I use (power saver off, etc.) so that I cannot see the clock or missed alerts (without pressing the volume buttons). Also, when i'm on a call, the main display also powers down so that I cannot see the call details or menu even when the backlight main display setting is set to flip open (again without pressing the nav buttons). My old Sammy VGA1000 never used to do this! I can get the outside LCD to stay lit if I press the camera button so that the keyguard screen comes on, then press the play button, but this seems like a chea...

Sound quality becomes very choppy!!

Is anyone else experiencing a problem with their phone attempting to cut out background noises ( while on a voice call ), resulting in a choppy conversation? Is there any way to adjust this "feature" with the phone?

Any help would be appreciated.

a920 clock skins

Does anyone know of a site that offers clock skins for the a920? I'm not satisfied with the few they gave me

Or can anyone tell me the proper name for that little screen? I searched the net under "screensaver" but came up with zero results.

The Scoop on free ringtones (take a look)

I've found this tutorial that uses the data cable to install free ringtones (note: this takes some basic computer knowledge and fidgeting.)

I had my ringtones installing in 2 hours and now I can put a new one on in less than 3 minutes (this includes editing my mp3 file to a 15-20 second clip and converting it to m4a)

I will try to check back here regularly if anyone needs any help.

It's quite awesome, I just installed a few ringtones last night, It was really time consuming and a few parts were a little sketchy (as in they didn't work the first time)

But don't give up hope. THIS IS THE WAY TO PUT FREE RINGTONES ON YOUR PHONE. IT REQUIRES NO (That's right NO) INTERNET. 😁

Missed Call Alert Question

Hello All,

I was wondering how to turn the missed call alert light ( red ) ? Or anything that would tell me that I missed a call besides the missed call alert when I open the phone.

One of my friends as the same phone and when he misses a call, the red light on the phone stays on.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

MP3 Ringtones !!!!!

Ok, i recently purchased the SCH-A920, took it home, figured out almost everything about it except one thing. HOW DOES ONE SET AN MP3 FROM THEIR MEMORY CARD AS ONE OF THEIR RINGTONES??? (and is this even possible) I live outside the USA so anything to do with Sprint is out of the question as I am on with an other Co. Please help me as this is very frustrating. If there is a solution could you please explain it to me as simple as possible as advanced cell phone lingo might just confuse me. Thanks for your time!!! 🙄 😕 😉

Pls confirm max microSD for this phone

The A920 specs says that the microSD supported is up to 512 Megabytes. Does anyone here use a larger memory card than 512 and still be able to access the files beyond 512 megabytes?

I plan to port my number from Verizon to Sprint and I think I'll get this phone.

Thanks in advance.
