Starup & shutdown sound

Sorry if this has been asked before but I can't find it. Verizon V3. Is there a way to stop/mute the start-up and shut-down sound. This can be very annoying if you are trying to turn on or shut down the phone discreetly. Must be a way but I can't find the setting in any of the menus. Thanks

The only way I found is to first reduce the volumn, to "ALL OFF". Then you don't hear it. You just have to remember to adjust that the next time you turn it on.
Poor phone. It deserved a better life than it got from VZW.

Thanks- thats what I thought. I do love this phone but there clearly was some lack of attention to detail such as this feature unless of course Verizon wanted a constant sound advertisement every time this phone turns on and off.
