RAZR V3c Dial Up Networking

I'm looking to upgrade my phone to RAZR. On my V710, I can connect through the phone with my Bluetooth IPAQ or PC to the DUN for Verizon. (ie, use as a modem with the #777 dial up number). I have Mobile Web 2.0, and it uses minutes similar to when I connect to internet with the phone.

Does the RAZR support the Dial Up Networking modem function from a Bluetooth connect? They guy at the Verizon Store said it did not, but most times they are not very informed, so I'm hoping this forum can give met the correct info.

Thanks, Carl

I believe that the RAZR will be supported later for dial up but through a cable connection. I am sure that Bluetooth can be used though with no problem. However, I have some information that I believe the store people don't seem to know.

First, Mobile Web 2.0 is not for DUN connections. It is for your browser on the phone. I can't believe how many store people don't know that.

The do support three DUN connections.

The first one is called Quick to Net. This is a free connection that only uses minutes. Its only 14.4 Kbps so its not that great.

The second one is National Access. It it capabile of up to 144 Kbps but the speeds are generally 60 to 80 Kbps. This service does cost $59.99 per month according to the Verizon Wi...

This post has been made possible by V3c DUN connection @ 114.KBPS.... and Dell Inspiron.

There is a procedure for this, a very long one so I wont post it. But you can check it out @ howardforums.com >> verizonwireless>> Motorola. and search for Razr DUN, it's definetly there.

The good thing is, you don't need any of the plans mentioned in the last post. the bad thing is, the only way you can get DUN to work is by disabling EVDO..... which can also be explained in hofo.

Trust me, I'm not blowing smoke up urass, I'm using it right now... and last I checked, I was surfing @ 128 KBPS.
