970 on sprint acct

has anyone found a way to put the A970 on a sprint acct, instead of the A940. (sprint guy told me he couldn't activate a 970 b/c they don't offer it) it's the same damn phone though, but the 970 has a few things that are better. does anyone know how to swap a sprint phone by themselves? at nextel, we have to do it, but when i needed to swap the phone numbers on my sprint phones, the care agent told me to type in a number, then type in another number when prompted. does anyone know what the numbers are, cause i'm thinking i may be able to use the same number for the 940, to swap a 970 (ie. lying to the agent and telling him/her i have a 940 and actually doing it on a 970) help me out guys

Battery Life on A940

I have looked at the A940, SonyE Z520 and the Motorola V557.

I am impressed with the quality of the menu and it's easy to follow process. I could really care about the camera functions yet want Bluetooth.

What are real world battery life times with this phone.

Do you still like the phone?

Camera, So So !!

I have had the camera for about a week now and I have not been able to get the camera settings right, yet ? in my opinion the camera is so so as of right now other wise right now the phone is excellent..
any help on settings for this other than auto focus and so fourth??? you have to have good light for it to be decent. I have had better luck with pics right now off of auto focus cause I have a tendancy to move or flinch when getting it to snap the pic after auto focus..

Why I love Sprint's Power Visions!

Quick science lesson. EV-DO data speeds drop with distance. Sprint uses 1900MHz while Verizon uses 800MHz. 1900MHz needs more towers to cover any given area. That is why Sprint has been tested at having faster network speeds for both of their network technologys. Take into effect that Sprint offers more EV-DO related content then Verizon. This gives Sprint an advantage in this area.

You can read more about Sprint's EV-DO phones and reviews on them at:

About MicroSD And Installing Applications

I work for a retail company that sells phones, among other electronics. I was helping a customer who had a nice phone, but it didn't have windows mobile. But it did have MircroSD. He had applications that could block phone numbers, and do other things like edit pictures, and email clients. He had these applications installed on his MicroSD card. How can I install these applications onto my phone. 🙂 does anyone know of any pages that I can get free applications, or paid ones. Either. I think with a Samsung A940 it'll have to be Java based. I am not sure. Help please on the subject matter.

Questions about the speaker phone on the 940. Can someone help me?

I'm new to this site and am looking to buy the 940. Can someone help me out by answering my detailed questions about the speaker phone?

Is the speaker phone FULL duplex?
Can you answer the phone in speaker phone mode with the clam shell closed?
Can you use the speaker phone with the clamshell closed. AND, can you end the call in speaker phone while the clamshell is closed.
Is it a loud speaker phone like most Sanyos?

I would be grateful if someone who owns this phone could e-mail me the answers to:
rosswiczer@yahoo.com

I appreciate it greatly and happy thanksgiving to all.

A basic clam shell phone with Bluetooth?

Does anyone know if Sprint will produce a basic phone with Bluetooth? I think there is a need for those of us who use the phone more as a phone and less for multimedia and would like Bluetooth for the car. I heard the A920 by samsung might have this???

please help

I know that Sprint just came out with two new phones only one is Bluetooth this one. Sprint is suppose to come out with a razor type of phone with Bluetooth soon. I just bought a car with Bluetooth tech. and wanted to find out which phone would be best to use with Bluetooth. If both are the same (for bluetooth) I would like to have the Razor and if the Razor is coming out soon. So when, where, and how on the new razor for Sprint and the MM a940. Please help and advise.

Thanks so much.

Unfortunately, limited availability, and some other thoughts...

I have heard that this and the Sanyo 9000 (even more so) will be very limited availability at Sprint stores. We are only getting 2 of the Sanyo's and 5 of the Samsungs as there will be even newer EVDO phones coming out. They WILL be available to order however...

Worried about "flimsey-ness" of this phone? Well, get ESRP on it for $3/month and we can take care of you in the store. Besides, you will have to pay for ANY service in store without it anyway...

Look out for a Samsung EVDO RAZR type phone in a few months. I saw it the other day and it ROCKS!

Amazing how fast those 2 new EV-DO phones disappeared

I just looked at the sprint site and the 940 and 9000 are gone all together. I have no clue what the deal is unless they are just on ridiculous back order that they just don't want to take anymore orders. As of right now though their gone.

Sucky Sprint Policy

As a 5 year user of Sprint I went to the sprint store to upgrade my sanyo 8100 to the A940. Just as Im about to sign the new 2 yr contract they tell me that I will have to pay a $36 fee. If I had new service via the web they waive the fee but if you are a loyal customer the charge you. Thus, I walked away from the phone.

Sprint: A good carrier?

May I ask what the people in this forum think about Sprint and Sprint reception? I am curious about the Samsung A940 but the carrier quality is also a big consideration. Thank you.

do we have to pay $5?

I just ordered this phone mainly for the voice recognition and bluetooth. I know several people who have the speaker-independent voice recognition who love it. Sprint wants to charge and extra 5 bucks to use an internal feature built right into the phone! They are 5 bucking me here and there to use most features of this phone. That is too bad. Does anyone know of a way around this?

question on camera and fullscreen!!!

is there anyway to make the screen facing you without it being backwards. if you twist it to the right its good, but if you twist it to the left, its backwards...also. can you twist the screen while watching a video to make it fullscreen? You can in for pictures.
