animated sreen saver

i'd love to have an animated screen saver for this phone. sites like matrixm.com have tons but won't work when downloaded. is there somwhere else to get one, make one? it seems silly that such an advanced phone can't perform the simple task of an animated screen saver. java based format? oh well, sure would be nice.

Downloading Ringers

I need some help on some sites to download and or make good ringers. I owned a Sanyo 8300 before this phone (Samsung MM-A940) and I guess the Sanyo 8300 accepted AAC format and this does not. This phone accepts qcp, which is the lowest quality ringers type. I have been a member of d-d-n.com since for ever cause you can make your own ringers/video ringers, pretty much everything and everything was cd-quality. Is there any other websites or way to create quality ringers/video ringers for my Samsung MM-A940.

Soon to be DISCONTINUED

Hi,
Just wanted to let yall know that I was at a "Brand Fest" for Sprint, and the rep from Samsung didn't even mention the a940. At the end of his 20 minute presentation, I asked him about it, and he stated that the phone is discontinued. Asking why, of course, he stated that they simply didn't sell enough of the phone, which tanked the profitability. He followed up by stating that the a900 and the a920 compensated, hence their continuation to push these phones.

Final point, the a940 is one of the best phones Samsung has ever made, and it is rediculous they ceased manufacturing these phones. Maybe it's a way to slow the deployment of technologies, which obviously is good for big business.

downloaded clip not found in phone

Help!!! My girl and I were messin around w/ my new phone and we went to phonerotica.com (dont laugh youve all been there)We decided to download a little 30 sec. vidoe clip and was able to watch it rite away. Now I can not find it in my phone!!!! I want to erase it simply to avoid any further embarassment but the only way I can find it is by going to my web history, witch wont let me erase. If I downloaded it, than it has to be on my phone somewhere right? Please help all I need is to let someone see my phone and have them find it....that would suck LOL

Sync with Outlook info

Check out www.susteen.com. Some may have already heard of them but they do make software for more handsets than Futuredial. I did call Futuredial and they said they didn't support the Samsung A900, A940 or the Sanyo MM-9000.

When I called Susteen, the girl looked up all three of the above handsets and said they were all slated to have software. She said it is typically 4 - 6 weeks after they're posted internally.

Just an FYI for those of you who like me think it's stupid to have all these great phones and not be able to sync with your contact management software.

Can't use cam on low battery regardless if it's plugged in or not...

I used this phone for a couple of days and for a Samsung, I was impressed.

HOWEVER, there is one major flaw. When the device was low on battery and I could not use the camera, I hooked it up to the charger. I tried to use the camera while the phone was on the charger and it STILL WOULD NOT let me use the camera because the battery was low. What's up with that? Shouldn't the device still allow you to use the camera and pull from the charger? Major issue!! 😲

Picture ID (best fit)

Hi everyone!

Isn't this site great? Rich is awesome.

Does anybody know the best size for a PictureID image? I've added some, but I'd like to custommize my images. It's obviously not the full 176x220.

Also, is it me, or is this phone grat - accept that the file structure not so wonderful? It appears that I cannot organize the folder layout on my TransFlash card the way I prefer and still have it find images, etc. Am I correct?

Many thanks,

Mr. A

MP3 Ringtones?

I made some ringtones with some programs I downloaded, so now I have some 400ish KB MP3 files that play on my phone, but I want to know if I can transfer them into the phone from my memory card, and/or make them into ringers?

If I'm unable to do this, anyone know where to get some cool ringtones for my phone that don't expire after 90 days?

Why don't sprint employees know about sprint phones?

I purchased this phone maily because this site notes this phone is capable of pc sync - so I can sync my phone w/ my Outlook Contacts, Calendar, and To Do List. I also have an internal bluetooth on my PC. The 4 sprint employees at the store didn't know how to do the sync, and the user guide says nothing of synchronizing the phone. If the phone can't do this I'm definitely returning it. Also - does anyone know any sprint non-pda phones that have the sync capability or any phones that will be out soon that have this ability.

While I'm asking questions. The approximate 30 ringers that came w/ the phone are fork on chalkboard bad. The sprint employee told me that I could use MIDI or MP3 files from my computer to use as ringers? Is that true...

Tech Questions... (long & detailed)

I'm looking at this phone to switch from Verizon and their evil upgrade policies...

1) what is the resolution of the Video mode? (VGA, 4CIF, CIF, QCIF, Sub-CIF)

2) what is the max length of a video clip?

3) what is the max size of the microSD card?

4) is the voice dialing in the phone INDEED separate from sprint's $5/mo plan? (covered extensively in another topic, but i just want to be sure)

5) how is the reception with the internal antenna? at my cabin my cousin gets 1-2 bars of sprint PCS on a candybar phone with his external antenna extended. digital or analog are acceptable, i just want to make and take calls - nothing fancy like web services or streaming.

6) i talk maybe 30-45 minutes a day on my phone and take pict...
