Vibrate Modes

One of the features I use most on my current (Nokia) phone is the ability to easily switch between different ring volume / vibrate settings ("profiles").

I see in the A840 manual that it describes various combinations of vibrate and ringer volume, as well as a "vibrate only mode", "silent mode", and a "visual indicator". How do you switch between these modes? Do you have to wade through many menu levels, or is this an easy 1-or-2-key shortcut from standby mode?

TIA,
- smileyJZ 🙂

Samsung A840

I'm thinking of getting this phone to replace my A680. If you have experience with this phone, I have a few questions for you.

Does the speakerphone mode have noise cancellation? Will it work well in an automobile with backbround traffic noise?

Does the external LCD have options to display analog clocks and/or screen saver images?

Have you synchronized this phone with Outlook or any other PIM on your computer? If so, are you also able to transfer images you captured with the camera?

Thanks in advance!

dizzy!!

Hi,
I had this new phone from telus for one week.
I love everything about this phone, look, battery life, reception, speaker phone, voice activation etc..

BUT
I get dizzy when I look at screen, because from the menu the fonts get shift little bit left whenever you select something and this REALLY bothers me, I played with contrast but same..

Does anyone know if there is any fix for this?
I want to keep this phone but I think I will return it if this doesn't get resolved..

cheers.

Can the external LCD's auto turn-off be disabled?

Is there a way to stop the phone from automatically shutting off the external LCD?

I can't find any appropriate settings in the phone itself, nor can I find any info in the manual.

Thanks!

A840 @ RadioShack

We at RadioShack are scheduled to get this phone in this week on our current order. My store appears to be getting 2 in. The phone will retail for $79.99 ($229.99 unactivated). It doesnt look like anything big and special. Well at least not to me, as i have a silver vm4500/scp-5500 and am currently looking at a mm-5600, 🙂 audiovox ppc-6600, or mm-a700 to tide me over until the 😁 mm-9000 or 😁 mm-7500 phones come out in late sept - early october.

Basic Phones!

These are two very basic phones, and theres nothing wrong with that. The 560 is a much need update to the 660, but with out vision and the 840 is and update to the 740, which sucked. I dont know how these phones will do tho, the 840s menus seem slow just like the 740s.... I do like how all of Sprints Samsungs are going with the internal antennas.
