There is a small carrier in Ohio called Cincinnati Bell who is offering this phone for 400 dollars with no contract.

Turn off the themes

Does anyone know how to either turn off the stupid themes that came with this phone or edit a theme so that the text is readable?

nokia 8801 write to sim card problem

I just got the new cingular 64k smartchip sim card, and my nokia 8801 can not write anything to it. I used to have the blue AT&T sim card, and my phone wrote to it just fine. I have tried other people's cingular 64k sim cards, and my phone couldn't write to those either. Is this a phone problem, or is there some kind of 'lock' on these new sim cards? Also, I have firmware version 3.6. Would the newer version fix this problem?

Ringtones

Dont know much about the phone. but i want a nice high end phone, not PDA. i want to be able to select ringtones from either a carrier OR put them on the phone myself by data cable or Memory card. bluetooth is a must. must be stylish and look decent.

with all that in mind, do all you phone gurus have any phone recommendations for me? your expertise will be appreciated!

thanks!

This phone must not be very popular.

It's been over a week and no one else has created or replied to a thread for this phone yet Motorola's SLVR and PEBL has gotten tons! Sad. 😢 Does anyone have this phone that can tell me if it's worth paying 800 bucks for? Thanks.

Need Long Nails - Nokia Failure

Had this phone for a day. My big problem with it is the Keypad. The 'Select' button is impossible to hit with accuracy. It's like you need a needle or long finger nail. Overall even, the keypad is bad. The bottom row is aligned with the phone body so you will always hit the body when using these keys.

Also, it will turn on its side when in your pocket. This makes it difficult to carry becuase of its weight and size.

If you are considering this phone - let your finger nails grow long before you buy.
