you CAN set the default text to predictive...here''s how....

look on page 20 of the manual...it explains that pressing the left side soft key will bring up the messaging screen...press it again, and it brings up the settings screen for messages...scroll down, and it shows TEXT ENTRY......you can set the default text input to WORD.....

funny part is,untill I read the manual, verizon, and LEVEL 2 samsung techs told me predictave text could NOT be selected as default....nice touch 😉

Ringer ID?

I was hoping that anyone who owns this phone could tell me if you are able to assign different ringers to you address book contacts. I currently have the Moto E815 and find the ringer ID's to be one of my favorite features. I am very interested in the A970 but will pass if ringer ID's are not available. Thanks for your help!

External Screen Glitch = Overnight Battery Death

It's really starting to chap my arse. 😡

If I get a missed call, text message, or event in the middle of the night, the external screen doesn't shut off after a certain amount of time, and will ALWAYS kill my battery overnight.

Why DON'T they have rocket scientists making phones?

maybe WE are the rocket scientists? đŸ˜ŗ

I've had the phone 1 hour....I already hate it..

well just got the phone....issue's so far?....the case situation is ridiculous....one...only a pouch is available....and to get it out,you need to grip the top of the phone....right square on the camera lens..(like you have time while driving to GENTLY slide the phone out of a pouch)......Second.....the lens is in the same spot I want to grip the phone(left hand thumb hits the lens)....it is way uncomfortable to hold......third..Why does my screen go black after 10 seconds while on a call?......speaker or otherwise?.....yes,the backlight option is working.....it stays on while the flip is open(along with the keypad..all the 5,10,30 second timers work great also...).....Fourth...is there ANY WAY to set speaker volume and earpiece volume SEPER...

More than 1 month at Best Buy and 1 week at Verizon and there are only 7 User Reviews.

Talk about a slow start! I'm just not ready to pop for this one until more reviews come in.

People just aren't jumping on this one. Is it the price, the swivel or something else?

swivel screen - question

For those who have the phone, I have a question about the swivel screen...I know the camera mode starts when you turn the screen sideways on the swivel, but what happens if you do this while using another function of the phone? Like if you are watching a video from your transflash card, or a V-Cast video, will the video stay on the screen and switch to widescreen format, or will it automatically start the camera as well? The reason I'm asking is because I saw a Samsung commercial today and it showed people watching videos on this phone with the screen turned sideways. Thought I would find out about it.

Phone Donation for Bitpim

đŸ˜ŗ

Does anyone out there think that there is enough interest to get an A970 over to the devteam at Bitpim? I could get a new one for them for $350 (Best Buy friends rock)

This would do a few things. For starters, if they can get the directory tree read, we would be able to use our own ringtones.
Secondly, we could use it to sync our phones with outlook and whatnot.
Thirdly it would be the first step to sifting through the phone, i.e. customizing the loading images, importing the brew games, etc.

VX9800 or A970?? Somebody please help!

I'm the one who's trying to change my phone to either vx9800 from LG or a970 from Samsung. I like both designs of those phones, but each phone has different pros and cons.

I like the A970's design and camera. It had 2x megapixel camera in it and it also supports 2x optical zoom. Moreover, it has the camcorder feature too!

I like VX9800 because it has cool speakers and screens, keyboard and stuffs like that.

I really can't make up my mind. Would somebody please help me with this?
Well, I think I'm not going to change my phone until the Christmas... but I really can't decide one. Will Verizon have a sale on one of these phones on Christmas season?? If you were me, which one would you choose? PLZ help me!! 😕

OBEX File Transfer

Hey y'all,

I am about to cash in on the v710 settlement, and was looking to get another phone that supported OBEX file transfer. (hacked or not) I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not this phone supported OBEX file transfer?

Right now my decision for the new phone is between the Moto e815 and the a970.

Problems

I had the this phone for about a week now, only 2 complaints from me. The speaker phone cuts in and out when using it and the camera tales bad photos. The photos look ok on the phone but when you send them though e-mail they are very fuzzy! Time to get another phone, same model.
