Speakerphone

It says in the specification that there is speakerphone. But I have the phone and haven't figure out where to activate it. Does anyone know? It'd be dope if this phone really has speaker phone. That would beat the D500.

Any Idea...

At work (where I happen to be) I have very little internet access. I was wondering if anybody had any idea how long the video clips are for this modle? I am looking for a new Samsung Modle to replace my E315 and I'm looking for something that will be a big step up.

D720 Feature Insights

Not to sway any opinions just wanted to throw some stuff on the table that I've heard. D720 has two new features called "Dynamic Idle" and "Speech To Text". Dynamic Idle allows for you to keep up to date with your sport scores or stock quotes by adding a ticker to your main screen that gets constantly updated via GPRS. Next interesting feature is the Speech To Text. It is what they say it is, speech to text will now allow you to speak your text message and have it typed up for you. That's all I had to report on that phone. Please don't start posting pro's and con's of these features I am well aware of them.

ooo ooo

Cool phone, but a good featured Samsumg for GSM? America, kiss it goodbye. Too bad, this one looks doper then the 8800 series, and I already have a D500, so I would prefer this over the D600, just cause the styling is differant, plus I got cool series 60 software leftover from my Nokia 6600.

My thoughts

I was thinking about getting this phone when it was first announced months ago, but after thinking about it i have come to a conclusion... no EDGE, very old version of Symbian (6.1, newer nokias have 9.1) all with a huge price tag (from what i have seen the preorder price and the price after release will be 799.99 or higher) make this phone not worth it at all. Kinda sad, because i think it looks very nice but when it comes down to it i would rather have one of the N series nokias as they are around the same price and have way more features.

So what is it with Panasonic...

I just need some opinions. I was planning on saving up for the Panasonic X700 and have heard many excellent things about that phone but now I'm wondering if I should wait for the X800 to be released. It sounds the same but with internal atenna and no flash.

Slow Carriers

What is with these SLOW carriers? The USA really needs to speed up with the GSM techno vibe. T-Mobile is really lacking on nice phones packed with tons of features. Verizon, in my opinion, is doing the best. T-Mobile needs to really kick it with EDGE in the summer, because it is behind on the cell phone train. Cingular is to busy with trying to make its plans better, and providing new services like streaming TV that it has no focus on the make and model of the cell phone. There are so many great phones out there that are just sitting in the Manufacturing Office, waiting to be service .(metaphorically speaking) Verizon is issuing nice phones and and services, like V-Cast. CDMA is beating GSM by the mile.... ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Samsung - Same phone, different shell...

Samsung really seems to disappoint me these days. They use to have all the new gadgets and features - but even then, it was "all beauty, no brains" You couldn't really do anything with some of the toys. Now, the beauty is slipping too. They are still flashy, but pack no truly new features.

Same flips, different trade show.

Bleh!

PS - Shame on Samsung for making such big news of the P705 TV Phone back in the 4Q of 2003 - where is it?!?

SGH-E730, E880, E720

Will these phones be released in the US?

They look great and have all the "essentials", but none of that matters if the phones never come out.

It would be great if one of the phones could come out for T-Mobile.

Just my opinion.

Thanks Rich Brome for the inside scoop.

Samsung 720

I have the E715, and although I had a brief (and ill advised) stint with the E315, I love my phone.

Is the exterior display on the 720 still just the multicolor, or are they switching to full color on it?

Disappointed

I am very disappointed with what i am seeing at this trades show. Isn't this the year of the mp3 phone? Where are the hard drive phones the ones with the micro drives? I guess i have to wait till next month to see what SE has in store for us w/ there walkman branded cell phones. Sure they have mp3 out but on stinkin flash memory. I would personally hate to have to use one of those tiny cards and know i would lose one if i had one. The industry needs to get w/ the program, the technology is there they just need to utilize it.

I take it back...

I'll take back everything I said about the Nokia 6101 looking decidedly "Samsungish". What a great looking handset...thanks for the closeups, Rich!
