a little more info

I just lost my Nokia 6230, and I was thinking about getting this phone unlocked from myworldphone or gsmphoneplanet. Which site is better?

I've heard nothing but great things about this phone, but I wanted to know for sure if it would work well (reception-wise) in the bay area, northern california with Cingular. I think one of the reviews mentioned it worked fine with Cingular in California, but I wanted to know if anybody specifically knew about the bay area. I've never bought an unlocked phone before, so what do I have to do to get it working with my Cingular acct?

thanks.

btw...i thought this phone had speaker phone but it doesn't ☚ī¸ but who cares because its still sweeet.. 😁

Question about flash

I currently have an e720 and was thinking of switching to the e730. One feature I like about my phone is the flash. I see that the flash is listed as a feature on this phone but can't tell where it is from the pic. Where is it located on the phone?

Stateside confirmed.

According to Samsung the phone is definitly coming stateside. The phone will also definitly have the 850MHz band. When I pressed Samsung about carrier availibility, they said both US GSM carriers will be using 850 MHz in future phones especially so T Mobile could roam off of Cingular. (and other rural carriers) They said while Cingular has not yet signed any exclusive agreement ala the Razr, the phone is definitly going to be a Cingular product.

Considering purchasing this phone

Well, I've been doing some research, and it's led me to this phone. Currently I have the Samsung e315. I've been dying to have a phone with these features:
-Speakerphone
-Mp3 ring tones

Other things I would like are
-Megapixel camera
-Lots of memory
-Flashlight
-Easy to upload pics and ringtones to the phone from the computer.

For those of you with experience of this phone. I have some questions:

-Can you use the speakerphone with the phone closed?

-Is the flashlight bright enough at night?

-How is the menu configuration compared to the e315 and similar phones?

-Can the menu be put into page, bar, and grid styles?

I know there is no perfect phone. But from what I've read, this one is pretty close in my opinion....

text messages on external display?

does anyone know if text messages can be read on the external display?

i've seen a few LG CDMA models that have this capability using keys underneath the external display, the set up looks similar on this phone. would be a handy feature...

Thanks!

What can't I do with a "unlocked" phone.

OK this might be a stupid question reading some of the replies on here. But what features will I loose if I buy this phone for t-mobile service. Right now I have the E715 and I can send and receive text and pic messages, search t-zones, check my e-mail through t-zones, e-mail myself wallpaper. I am worried about this phone locking up or malfunctioning. Just wondering how much I should be concerned and if these things are really an issue before I purchase a unlocked phone. 🙄

Someone took my purse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen a bunch of responses about a DUN #777 and it allows internet access, but how , is it free , how much does it cost , I use to have a Sanyo MM-5600 but lost it at the mall along with my purse , Sprint sent me a Samsung A800 because the Sanyo was out of stock , let me just say that this phone is amazing , its so cute and pretty and sexy , but enough about me...Just Kidding ! But if anyone can teach me or help me in my predicament I would greatly appriciate it considering everyone here on this website is very educated in cellular phones and services. Thanks in advanced.

Come on now TMobile! Get on the stick and get this released. Will be a great upgrade from the E720. I'll gladly wait till around Christmas time if it's been released by then to upgrade from my E315!

Ahem.

Samsung indicated today this phone will be released by Cingular Wireless before the end of the summer. When asked if this phone was meant for T Mobile, said Samsung trainer said T Mobile USAs version will be the 620. Sorry T Mobile homers.
