New Cingular Commercial

Okay, I just saw a commercial today on Vh1 for the Nokia 6102. It is almost like an animated 2-d thing that highlights its features before showing you the real thing. And the commercial ends showing you the little Cingular jacks spinning around followed by "Cingular: Raising the Bar" so my guess is it is coming very soon to Cingular!

Confused

I have a dilemma, I am interested in the 6101 and the Samsung e335. I'm not sure which one to get. I have done a lot of surfing on both phones and so far my choice will be the Nokia. Has anyone found information as a comparison of overall quality, reception? I have always liked my Nokia and said when they came out with a newer camera flip I would buy it. As for what someone posted about not having Bluetooth, there is a add on piece sold by Nokia that makes it Bluetooth, you can see it on the Nokia website under accessories for the 6101. Nokia has an extensive site set up for the 6101, but Samsung only gives a sales pitch. Any help appreciated.

Cingular or T-Mobile?

I've heard it's going to be a Cingular exclusive, and I've heard it's going to be a T-Mobile exclusive. So which is it? Are both carriers going to be getting it?

I'm a Cingular customer, and I REALLY want this phone. Any chance that is going to happen?

Just Spoke with a Nokia Rep.

I work at a Cingular store. A Nokia rep. just came to my store and told me about 3 new phones coming for Cingular this summer. The 6102 is one of them. Ours will be the silver with black and T-mobile will be getting the all silver one. She wasn't sure of a price yet, however she expects it to be some where in the $100-$150 range. A couple other really cool ones too. One of which has a rolex crystal screen that is scratch resistant. But those are for another forum.

Hey Rsxguy02...

Since you work in a Cingular store, have you heard anything about the Nokia 6260? I'd love to know if that phone is coming to Cingular.

Thanks

Bluetooth

I say drop the PTT feature in favor of bluetooth. PTT is probably still a while from being available from Cingular. Hopefully Nokia will figure this out and add bluetooth and kill the PTT idea.

So what is it with Panasonic...

I just need some opinions. I was planning on saving up for the Panasonic X700 and have heard many excellent things about that phone but now I'm wondering if I should wait for the X800 to be released. It sounds the same but with internal atenna and no flash.

Slow Carriers

What is with these SLOW carriers? The USA really needs to speed up with the GSM techno vibe. T-Mobile is really lacking on nice phones packed with tons of features. Verizon, in my opinion, is doing the best. T-Mobile needs to really kick it with EDGE in the summer, because it is behind on the cell phone train. Cingular is to busy with trying to make its plans better, and providing new services like streaming TV that it has no focus on the make and model of the cell phone. There are so many great phones out there that are just sitting in the Manufacturing Office, waiting to be service .(metaphorically speaking) Verizon is issuing nice phones and and services, like V-Cast. CDMA is beating GSM by the mile.... 😲

Samsung - Same phone, different shell...

Samsung really seems to disappoint me these days. They use to have all the new gadgets and features - but even then, it was "all beauty, no brains" You couldn't really do anything with some of the toys. Now, the beauty is slipping too. They are still flashy, but pack no truly new features.

Same flips, different trade show.

Bleh!

PS - Shame on Samsung for making such big news of the P705 TV Phone back in the 4Q of 2003 - where is it?!?

Will these phones be released in the US?

They look great and have all the "essentials", but none of that matters if the phones never come out.

It would be great if one of the phones could come out for T-Mobile.

Just my opinion.

Thanks Rich Brome for the inside scoop.
