Removable Memory!?!?!?!?

This phone is really great! It looks hot and has all the functions we've come to depend on. EXCEPT!!! There is no removable memory (TransFlash/miniSD/etc..)

That just completely ruins the phone. How are we supposed to use all of the functions with only 5MB of memory??? This is ridiculous!!! Motorola really screwed up!!! πŸ‘Ώ

I would have loved to get this phone, but 5MB, seriously, what can you fit in there nowadays??? πŸ‘Ώ

SPKRPHONE

To clear up what appears to be a major point of contention, not to mention point of confusion, the PEBL U6 WILL HAVE A SPEAKERPHONE. The lack of mention on some sites (including Moto) of this feature is purely an oversight. Spoke to a Moto rep today and they confirmed that the PEBL does indeed have a speakerphone. In fact, the rep was shocked that I would even ask, as this feature "is, and has been a standard feature on all Moto units."

What a joke!

Even my V551 (that's been out for 8 months) has more features than this. This has GOT to be a T-mobile phone!
5MB of memory? (not impressed)
Better screen (only good thing)

This would be a downgrade from my V551. Compare them both and see!

Its also on cingular

The PEBL is going to be a tmobile phone for sure, but it has the necessary features and other special add-ons for cingular's network too. Motorola also said that its only exclusive phone deal of note is the deal for the pink razr (which makes me think the blue and dark gray will not be exclusive). So it is extremely likely that its going to both and not just tmobile, especially since a deal like that would cost tmobile a lot of money for an exclusive phone. And i highly doubt whether DT would fork out that much if they're concidering selling tmobile.

Decent...

I really like this phone, especially the automatic-flip hinge. I wish they would have splurged and added a color external LCD screen though. Overall, looks like a decent phone. We'll see how many bugs this one has though...

CCD Camera Phones

Were there any camera phones that use a CCD sensor rather than a CMOS?

All the megapixels in the world done mean a thing if the lens and the sensor are not high quality.

If you compare the MPX220 1.3 mp CMOS camera to the SE S710A 1.3 mp CCD camera there is no comparison.

Aside from the s710a are any other manufacturers planing on putting together a phone with a CCD camera to compete with the s710a?

The reason I ask is that I like all the features on the Sony-ericsson, but I do not like their interface. I may stand alone on this fact but I prefer the motorola interface, especially when it comes to their predictive text input and various menu navigation.

I am trying out the s710a for a few days and I have decided they...

I think what is missing

That should have been reported were the small upstart companies.

I talked to some of the manufacturer reps and more than a few of them were impressed with the design and build qualities of some of the smaller Chinese and Korean venture groups.

One group that was really impressive at the show was NewGen with their really cool designs.

Under an inform discussion in the eating area, some of the these product managers feel that in the next 10 years, some of them (like Hop On, Bird, New Gen, Telson) maybe in the top 10 market and some of the older stalwarts in the world markets (like Alcatel, Philips, Siemens and Mitsubishi) may pull out as phones becomes total commodity items.
