traditional headphones jack for mp3?

One of the most frustrating aspects of my 6230 has been the nokia headphones, and the inability to use other brands. Does the 6682 have a traditional headphones jack?

What does Symbian mean?

Sorry for what might appear to be a stupid question. 😉

Cingular sucks

Cingular must be actively trying to lose customers as it constantly delays the arrival of promised new products (Nokia 6230i, 6682, etc.), services (push to talk), and technology (UMTS). Why can't I ever get a straight answer from them as to when anything will become available? Will they ever stop treating their best potential customers as children? I encourage your responses, especially those of you working for Cingular. Thanks. -blueboy

Phone listed on Cingular Ringtones and Graphics

If you go to the Cingular website and go to Media & Services then click on Ringtones and Graphics you can find this phone on the list. I hope that this is an indicator that the phone will be out soon. I'm in Los Angeles. Then again, the 7610 is still listed and it never came out in my area. Does anyone know if this means that the phone will be out soon? When? Thanks.

Just curious

Like everyone else I'm desperately waiting for this phone to come out. I was wondering if this phone has the FM radio like most other nokias. B/C it says music player. Sorry if this was already discussed.

Push AOL e-mail on Cingular Blue

If and when this phone finally comnes out, I will get it almost exclusively for the push e-mail function. I am a Cingular Blue customer, and I use AOL for e-mail. Question: will this phone automatically "push" my AOL e-mail. Do I have to make special arrangements with Cingular? Is there anything that would prevent the push feature for working under my circumstances?

Nokia 6230i, 6681/82

Let's get together and let Nokia and Cingular know how we Americans feel about being treated like children when it comes to new cellphones. I want the new technology now, and if Nokia won't sell it to me, I'll find a company that will. (Are you listening, Motorola?)
Of course, Cingular is partly to blame here. Why are they still trying to sell me phones that the rest of the world (Africa and the Middle East included) consider technological fossils? And why, unlike the European system, are American customers forced to declare allegiance to a particular GSM carrier and settle for its phones and only its phones? Doesn't this defeat the very purpose of GSM technology? I'd be interested in hearing from anyone wishing to join me in letting...

Buyer Beware: Non-standard RS-MMC card slot!

Just a heads-up to potential 6681 / 6682 buyers: the "RS-MMC" card slot in the 6681 and 6682 (and also 6680 and 6630 for Europe/Asia) is actually a low-voltage slot that it NOT compatible with standard RS-MMC cards!

Normal RS-MMC cards will fit, but won't work.

So this phone requires special low-voltage RS-MMC cards from Nokia, or the new MMCmobile cards, which are dual-voltage.

Not many people are aware of this, since Nokia (shamefully) is not publicizing it at all. So I wanted to get the word out before people make the mistake of buying the wrong cards for this.

to wait??.. or to go for Audiovox 5600

I have been waiting for this Nokia Beauty for couple of months!!.. and Now, with its sale starting directly from Nokia, many web blogs are reprting that this might be nokia strategy to bypass carieers and come direct to consumer...a they are in Asia. It might be good for Consumers in the end...but $599 for this, seems too much i guess!!!

wonder..if audiovox 5600, also available from Cingular, and as cheap as $0 with new plan contract...will that be a nice alternative??..

It playa music..videos..bettwe email..camera..windows OS!!.. so, why not??

neat

Actually have one of these...attended a nokia training meeting for the 6682 this morning and the reps gave everyone who attended a phone with all the fixings. Really neat phone, almost sorry I just upgraded into an SMT5600 as this phone will do pretty much everything that will, but the camera is far better. Should be a good phone for people who don't really want a windows based phone or the treo and blackberry....

CHECK IT OUT! (Cingular branded 6682)

Well, the phone exists on the Cingular network.

Check out the pics. The phone is branded on the front by Cingular. I wonder what phone this guy has now to make him give up the 6682?
