what the deal with the camera

wondering what the specs are on the camera compared to the 8000. is the 8100 going to be better, worse, or comparable. the main reason i'm waiting for the 8100 over the 8000 is the size, memory, mp3, but i am going to be using this a lot as a camerato take quick pics instead of carrying around a nice digital camera.

motorola e815 or lg vx8100?

My contract with Verizon is almost up and being that both phones will be offered by Verizon Wireless and most likely be coming out at the same time, I'm trying to decide which i should get. Both are very similar, so I'm wondering if anyone can help me decide.

June/July -$150/$200

Yeah, I know this has been discussed plenty of times. I just wanted to let everyone know what I heard. The sales guy told me it will be on sale in June or July for around $150 to $200.

phone is in testing for verizon

from what i heard, the phone is in testing. I figure that they will cripple the bluetooth somehow, that will take some time. then they have to cripple the file transfer ability from memory card to phone, which means you won't be able to use it as ringtones. I hear that it might be a summer phone, so get ready for the e815 and the 8100 to come out at about the same times. e815 first

More release date speculation

A rep at a Verizon store told me today that due to trouble with its ability to receive an EVDO signal, the release date for the VX-8100 has been pushed back until December of this year, whereas the E-815 is to be released by the end of this month.

back of phone

has anyone seen any pics of the back of the phone? I wanted to know if it has the external antenna connector. I use it now with my 4500. Without it my phone is useless in my house.

Big Deal

I have been reading a lot about the new phones that Verizon offers and am disappointed at what I am read. They are crippling the functions of Blue-tooth and the mini SD cards. If that is the case and continues to be the case then as far as I am concerned any of these phones that have these features are useless. I think it is unfair to offer phones at high prices because of these features and then to cripple them. They should be sued. I am so happy that I was fortunate enough to have purchased the Audiovox 9900 in the 3 weeks it seemed to be available.

But i like the look of the vx 7000 but it does not have speaker.... now that the vx 8100 is coming out it seems perfect.... but i saw some pics on
google and it looked ugly. Does anyone know what it really looks like, blue or Black?

They just had to make it CDMA

I seriously believe this would be the phone in my pocket were it not CDMA (except for the fact that it has yet to be released)....It has everything I look for in a phone...absolutely spectatular. 😁

I would love to see the details of what this phone can do and i just havent been able to find anything.

random info about 8100

i was in a verizon store in mid march looking at the 8000(took me a while to get into a verizon store) and as i was about to leave i went to ask one of the people there a question(not sure if he was sales). he was on the computer and i asked him if he knew anything about the 8100 and he said that he was checking it out right now, funny thing is when i looked on his computer screen (the way the store is i could easily see the screen) he was looking on phonescoop website at the specs that are listed. not sure wat reason he said he was looking at it for, he said something that was a bit confusing, probably didn't want to divulge any information. so as for the release date i'm not sure if this fact is good that they want to read up as much as ...

Reason to hope (release date info)

I recently found out that you can get the new phone deal 2 months early, and despite everything cool I found out about the 8100 I decided to go to the vzw store for a 7000. HOWEVER, when I told the clerk about my interest in the 8100 he told me not to get the 7000. He did not give me a specific date, but it was implied that if I got the 7k my trial period would run out just days before the 8100 release. Needless to say I hope to have the phone by the end of the month! 🙂

What things are crippled?

I have been following these posts and I understand that certain features may be crippled. Which features exactly are expected to be disabled and how might that affect me?
Can I move mp3s from computer to 8100 easily? Is this via bluetooth or card or both? If bluetooth, do I just buy a usb adapter for the computer? If card, can I just stick in in the reader, dump on the tunes and stick the card in the phone? Or is it harder than that?
Is it true I have to go thru Verizon and pay them just to move photos out of the phone? Can I send them to another phone without paying?
So...what can't it do that it should be able to do that I don't even know I need?

the "soo much" memory

OK from what i read the phone is gonna have 512 MB of memory. now I'm waiting for this phone because my contract expires July 6th and hopefully it will be out in time but my quetion is how many mp3s would i be able to put on there with out the memory card.

i wont be using any games. pretty i would only use that space for music and saving certain text messages
