Formatting SD?

I currently bought the miniSD card for my LGx8100. I formatted the card through my phone and its working fine. I can move my pictures and sounds into the card. I tried adapting the memory card to my laptop (using the Mobile Mate SD+ adapter) but the card isn't working. I double-clicked on my "removable disk" drive through My Computer and windows tell me to format the memory card. I do as they say, but each time I attempt to format it, there would be an error saying "windows is unable to format drive." Why does it keep say that?? I contacted SANDISK with this problem and they didn't give me an answer to fix it... ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON? Please help.. I would love to put my 1gb of memory to work with mp3s and all that happy stuf...

Make sure you have the card in the adapter before you connect it to the USB port. I had this problem with my computer. I spent weeks looking into if the reader was only USB 2.0 and what ports on my computer are 2.0 and if maybe some are 1.0 or something.

Turns out you have to have the card in the reader then plug it in and it has worked every time since.

I definitely remembered to put it into the adapter before I placed it into the SanDisk reader. If not, the miniSD wouldn't fit into the MobileMate... It's still not working ☹️
Stupid question: The adapter is the thing with the lock function, right? If so, I placed it in, and it's not working...

The card and adapter have to be in the card reader before you plug it into your computer.
