Im thinking about purchasing this phone becaz i like the specs on this cell and was wondering if it was hard to text on this phone because i type a few times a day and wanted to get some feedback from people who had the phone.
I recently switched to Cingular from Verizon to take advantage of the unlimited MMS messages until 2006 promotion, and picked the Sony Z500a as my camera phone. I am less than impressed with the picture quality, and I absolutely hate the fact that the external display completely turns off. I never realized how much I used to look at my closed LG vx4400 to check the time and signal strength. So now I'm thinking of switching to the Moto V551 or the Samsung SGH-P777. Obviously, the camera will be much better on the 777, but what does the display do after a period of inactivity?
Saw the P777 in person the other day. It is a slick and well-built phone. I'm considering it even though it lacks bluetooth and a speaker phone. The screen looks impressive and the colors were dazzling. The slider mechanism was chic and solid feeling. I like!
Info is hard to come by. Someone mentioned that they can receive both ATT and cingular networks on this now. Does this phone then just search for the stronger of the two network signals? Important to me because by my house ATT is strong but Cingular is a little finicky.
Finally, some of the info says no standard 2.5mm earphone jack. What does this have? I use (I think) a standard earbud for my e307. Strangely enough, I sprang for the Samsung one and the quality was terrible. I pul... (continues)
Anyone agree/disagree with this? From Review section......

I have had soem problems with the mp3 functions. it seems like when you put in a lot of songs (almost filling up the memory) the phone might freeze and the only thing I could do was to turn the phone off. and also when you have a lot f songs.like 17 or 18 the phone might get confuse and start playing other songs ( the song you didn't select) Oh yeah to all p77 users NEVER DROP YOUR p777 !!! my phone got scratch!!! my precious little phone (the dropping had nothign to do with the phone freezes or getting confuse with mp3 because it happened since the 3rd day I got the phone(the day that I started putting pictures and mp3's into the phone)
Anyone have experience yet with image quality from the built-in camera? It's the main feature I'm after. I heard images look good on screen, but not once transferred to a computer. Also, if anyone has experience transferring images, I'd like to hear about it. Is the software required, or can you do a straight USB connection (like a small USB thumb drive) that just mounts on your desktop? I'm on a Mac, so Windows software connection won't work. Thanks!
Seems as though you can pick up the P777 at Amazon for 130 bucks after rebates. But I'm reading the fine print, and am I wrong, or is it invalid if you want to transfer your existing phone number from another carrier? Anyone have any experience with buying through Amazon, and their rebate policy? I emailed their Customer service, but no word yet...
After installing and deinstalling the sw several times, I finally got it to work. Not the best, and very basic.
Customer service indicates I should be able to look at and edit/add phone numbers using this. Has anyone done this? I cannot figure out how, and their tech support people say the stuff is so new, I need their level 2 support which is in during the week.
Anybody else with good experiences with the EasyStudioII???
Does the slide need to be open in order to answer/talk or to place a call? It would be a huge plus if you could use the send/recieve call feature while the phone is in it's compact position. Anyone know? Thanks!
