Questions about this phone.

Im with cingular right now and my contracts almost up. They released the Samsung p207 which has some really nice features. But i wanna know somethings about both of them.(I'll ask about the p207 in its own forum)
1. How loud is the speakerphone and do the aac ringtones sound disorted when played loud?

2. How good is the battery life?

3. How fast is vision?

4. How clear are the calls?

5. How much space does it have for pics, videos, ringers?

6. How clear is the camera for pics and videos?

7. Does it have video caller id?

8. I read it has a seven color LED light. Is that like the service light on Samsungs?
Thats all i can ask for now. One noticeable advantage this phone has over the p207 is of course the speakerphone.

This phone is a keeper for a while.

I bought the 5600 at Best Buy and returned it the very next day. No need to spend $464 when I already have a phone that works fine which is the Sanyo 7400.

Locking Phone

Does anyone know an easy way to lock the handset? right now, you have to navigate to setting>security>lock>(enter code) after every time you use the phone. My Nokia and MOT phones would stay locked all the time if you want and this is VERY frustrating.

It's set to power up locked but that's the only shortcut I have been able to find. 😕

Help Please?!? Data Sync Problems

I have the MA8512P and when I upload my phonebook its not in Alphabetical order. Even though it shows it on the computer screen thats not the way it uploads it. Any suggestions? Also when the phonebook is updated through this software, the name is no longer recognized in my caller id. If someone calls it treats them as a number that I dont have stored even though it is stored exactly the same in my phonebook.

Please Help

Help! Best Buy warranty?

Okay, is this illegal or what?
In late November I bought the 7400 just to replace my messed up VGA1000. The only reason why I got the warranty was the fact that there is the option of upgrading your phone. Now I have decided I want the 5600 and called 1-888-BestBuy hotline. The lady told me that Best Buy USE to offer the upgrade option but NOT ANYMORE. I was never notified of this. So, is this illegal of what Best Buy has done?

ps. My business law teacher has told me to go to the store and talk to the District Manager and tell them, "If I can't get an upgrade, I'm going to file a small claims report to the Better Bussiness Beareu." -Do you think this would work too?

Thanks in advance!

Dropped calls and customer service (or lack of)

Of course this doesn't happen until after my 14 day trial. I have experienced numerous dropped calls with this phone. When I went in to the Sprint Store (Michigan Road, Indianapolis) where I purchased the phone, Steffan basically told me that there is no way I could be experiencing this problem with this phone, he also refused to make a call on the phone after I offered to let him make a couple.

So I'm starting to remember why I left Sprint a year ago, customer service SUCKS! I thought I would give it another shot after a year with VZW and a lot of blocked calls.

I guess I'll be coughing up $150 to term and give Cingular a shot, they have better options for bluetooth phones anyway.

Are there new housing for the phone??

Ok so yeah.. I love the phone... It's amazing and perfect to me, even though I really want the sanyo5600 but I'm not gonna get it... But what I really want is to be able to change that cheap looking and feeling plastic housing or case that covers it with something like the sanyo 8200 or 4500's... Those are nice! So does anyone know of anything for that yet? I'm guessing they are gonna be making them but it's kinda new right now... I knwo they got them for the 8200 and the 4500(aka 5500)... So yeah... If anyone knows that would be great!! Thanks a lot!!

MM-7400 VS. MM-A700

I am looking at the Sanyo MM-7400 and the Samsung MM-A700 and I'm haveing issues with both. The Sanyo is large plus the software and button layout seems primitive. The Samsung is a bit more expensive and does not have speaker phone. Just wondering if any one had a preference? if so why?

Programming This phone?

Anyone out there know how to get into the programming menu? Any Sprint reps out there able to help me out I would be very much thankful. I am trying to get this programmed for another phone network but need to access the programming menu to even have a chance. Also need a SPC code to fully activate this phone.

Phone tip of the day:
*99 _ _ = edit how many seconds your phone rings before going to voice mail. Ex: *9920 = 20 seconds before your voicemail picks up.

*78 = voice mail on
*780 = voice mail off

About to plunk down $349 for this phone, is it worth it?

I had Sprint for about 6-7 months with my (then) trusty RL-7300. Turns out my phone became defective after about 6 months of usage, the RF went bad on the phone (outgoing) and would always say "Connecting...", then "Re-dialing..." and then after another 10-15 seconds would drop itself out of the network and back on -- with at least 1-3 bars!

I miss the phone, the quality of the calls from Sprint, and I feel I almost made a mistake switching to Verizon... I got a VX-6100 that had a known volume bug in it where the first 1-2 seconds of receiving a call had very low volume and then it would return to normal. I had to go through the frustration of going back to the tech support where they had to perform a software upgrade on it that took o...
