Can someone post some pictures?

It'd be nice to see the camera quality before buying. If someone can post some pictures taken at the highest resolution that would be great.

Thanks.

a couple of questions

Now that the phone is shipping and out there, can someone tell us if the Mini-SD slot has been crippled by Verizon?

Specfically can you get pictures of the SD card and into a computer? Ringtones and MP3's as well?

Also does the phone offer any sync'ing capabilty with a PC, either directly (USB) or via software.

Specifically Outlook contacts and calendars. I very much would like to sync the Outlook Contacts with the phone.

Thanks for the info

Stop don't buy!!!!!!!

I just came back from the verizon store. When I asked them if there is a data cable and software program so i could back up my contacts, like i have had on all my other phones they said NO! None of the three new EVDO phone will allow this. This is there is no way to back up your contacts and no way to use the phone as a modem! I have over 300 contacts and if i can't back up my phone for get it. Verizon sucks! Verizon has a service that you have to pay for every month to back up your contacts over the their get it now network. It costs, I think 4$ a month. Crooks.
If I am wrong please corect me, because i really want one of these new phones.

ebay 8940 sans contract

On ebay one person has an 8940 without contract for a decent price. I don't know if there is a catch but it seems like a good deal if you can't get the contract price.

The phones are in the stores. A REVIEW of the 8940, 8000 & 890.

Yes, the stores now have both the 890 and the 8000 in stock. Some have the 8940 too. None are on display yet, but if you have a friend on the staff, he may pull them out from behind the counter and let you see them.

The Audiovox 8940 is in route and should be in hopefully at the same time they launch all three phones on Feb 1.

How do they compare? 🙄

Don't get hung up on which one has a better camera and base it only on megapixels. There is more to a good camera than pixel count.

The 8000 has a bright and large screen. The pictures, both indoors and outdoors have good color and saturation and generally look better than the 890. But the 8000 is HUGE!! No, it will NOT be comfortable in a pants pocket. The 8000 is one of the ...

Calendar Capacity /EV-DO

Does anyone know the calendar capacity for this model? Seems all other audiovox phones were limited to only 30 days worth of entries. Also can someone explain to me what EV-DO is? Thank you.

Internet Ready?

Is this phone internet ready, so it can use Verizon's Mobile Web? According to Verizon's website today, it is not listed as internet ready, while the VX-8000 is. Does this mean the 8940 will not connect to the internet?

Probably premature...

Can anyone talk to the eventuality of a PDA-phone that can use VCast? I know that there is a UTStarcom that runs on EVDO.

confused about mp3 player

Sorry I'm not that tech savvy, and am confused. Someone mentioned that this phone doesn't have mp3 player software on it. And then another person mentioned that it comes with stereo headphones and has a mini-sd slot so you can put mp3s on the card. Therefore can you or can't you play mp3 on this phone and listen to it with the headphones provided. I'm not asking about the quality of the sound or ease of use. I just want to know if it is possible to use it as an mp3 player. Thanks for your help.
