When will this phone be released? and How can one get it even if it might not be in the US?

I've been a huge fan of nokia phones, but ever since i saw a Motorola clamp-shell phone i began to lose interest in nokia phones. Now that they'll be coming out with this version, i would really like to get it, even if i can't afford it.

If u have any ans for me holla back!

Thanks

850 Version?

Hi all,

I saw that this phone has an 850MHz version. I've searched the web far and wide for it, but can't find it. Any ideas where I can find it? I would get the 900 version which has ther 1900MHz band, but Cingular 1900 doesn't work for **** at my house. AT&T's 850 works great.

Any info would be appreciated.

Please e-mail @ rafaelsherman@gmail.com

BTW, if someone finds it for me, there's a Gmail acct waiting for them.

Thanks,

Rafster

Where I bought it.

In my previous message i mentioned that I sell phones for an indirect dealer8 in Texas. My boss/owner has the Nokia 6260, and I can remember seeing 850mHz listed on the box, though I will call and ask once I get the chance in a few minutes. He is currently selling the phone for $349.99 with contract for new customers, and i think $349, or $399 for upgrade. If you just want to buy the phone he sells it for $449.99 without contract. He bought the black and the silver model, but only has the black left. I think the silver looks better. If it takes too long to sell, then he most likely won't get anymore.

Before I bought the phone I went through the information provided by T-Mobile about insurance, and afterwards spoke with an Asurion represe...

nokia 6260 will not work with cingular anymore (A Warning)

A warning, if you are trying to by a nokia 6260 to use on cingular, it will not work, because cingular is switching its frequency to 850Mhz. Nokia 6260 is triband and will only work on 900 1800 1900 Mhz's.

I just got mine recently and during cingulars change i noticed my phone was not receiving any singals. It took a lot of back and forth phone calls btw me and cingulars customer service, and some research to realize this change.

I'm stock with my contract with cingular because it would cost me more to leave than to get a new phone.

For now, the 6260 should work with T-Mobile. They are based on a 1900Mhz frequency.

VGA camera? True MMC or SD card? Difference btwn nokia 6170

I have a few questions I am debating between this phone and the nokia 6170. Its a $70 difference for me to get this one vs the 6170. Does this phone only take MMC or can you use a regular SD card? Is the camera truly VGA, i heard rumor that it was higher res. What are other differences between this phone and the 6170 short of no external screen, bluetooth and a memory card slot? Is the OS basically the same between the two? Is the case on this phone all plastic? How are the PDA features of this phone, can you put addresses in your phone book? Whats this I hear about a wireless keyboard option? Any help or push in one direction or the other would be helpful, thanks!

my nokia 6260

Hi anyone,

i just got this phone and when i switched it on its text was in some asian language. It had some text and the word SIM was among the asian lettering, along side it it hade the exclamation mart (!). I can't seem to get passed this screen. I don't have any service yet, i.e. I don't have a sim card, but shouldn't I be able to do other stuff like change the language and all other sorts without a sim card?

the message is probably telling me there is no sim card.

If there is anyone who can help me with this I'll appreciate it.

P.s.

Does this phone work well with cingular's network?

Nokia 6260 low quality sound

I've got a Nokia 6260 and I'm wondering why is the sound in low quality? I've heard the same ringtone, mp3 and wav music on a N-Gage and Nokia 6630 and the sound is much better there. I don't know if it's only the phone or can i make the sound better with some special settings or software?

Please help.

Bought it. Awesome. Have questions

Questions:

A. I'm currently using T-Zones GPRS with T-Mobile, but it seems that downloading files or applications is restricted to anything less than a specific size. For instance, I can download a 200kb app, but I can't download a 1.? mb MP3. I tried to load a picture that was around 500kb but that didn't work either. Anytime you try to download above this "download cap", if it exists, i get an error that reads "Web: Reply Unknown".

So my only other thought is that if I use the phone to make a data call, then i can download any file i want. But I can't find any setting other than how long you want the data call to last before the time-out.

B. I've been trying to download .sis files, but every time i do they just open in the Notes p...
