XV6600 PocketMac Compatible?

Out of all the choices out there, I've almost decided to get the XV6600 through Verizon. The only thing holding me back is compatiblility with my Mac.

I know Pocket PC's can sync with Macs using PocketMac, but on the PocketMac site it doesn't show the 6600 as a supported device.

Does anyone know if PocketMac will work with the 6600?

Mikey

Mute & Media Player

I recently purchased the 6600 and I am slowly learning it's features. One big thing I can't seem to figure out is how to mute the phone. Seems like such a simple thing! 🀭

I also can not figure out how to import music to my phone. I keep getting an error when copying files from my Windows Media Player to my device (which is connected via USB). I have been able to sync with outlook data and even add pictures to my album but cant get my music on the phone!

Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

6600 for Verizon first Impressions

Well I finaly received mine today and let me tell you what. It was a pain in the but to get this thing activated. I had to call 3 different times to get someone that knew what the heck they were talking about. This device is so cool! I have been able to set up a bluetooth connection with my laptop with no problem and this thing works perfect as a wireless modem for surfing the web so I think that I will be getting rid of my 5220 card and just using my unlimited data plan on my phone. Loaded tons of software without any problems and even loaded a few dvd movies using DVD to Pocket pc and they play perfect. I am giving it a week of use before I list on the user review section. 😁

Phone For Sale

If anyone is interested in getting the Audiovox XV6600 for Verizon, I have one for sale. I purchased it on 12/13/04 for business use and can still return it to Verizon, but I would like to try and get my shipping costs back if possible. I paid the full retail price of $669.00 plus $58.00 for shipping. If I don’t get at least $730.00, I will put it up for sale on E-bay before my 15-day return policy expires. The phone is brand new I just opened the box and tried it for half a day. I’m getting rid of it because Cingular has finally added coverage in the areas where I use my phone and I want to try them out. Please send any offers to joe_sinisha@comcast.net

If you have any questions, please send your contact info and I will call or email ...

Citrix Client

Has anyone used the Citrix client for Pocket PC's, particularly on this XV6600? If I could get that on my phone I may never get out of bed. ;^)

Thanks.

Sync with Mac?

I am currently a Palm user (Kyocera Phone/PDA) and I'm considering this phone. Anyone out there successfully syncing with a Mac? How about a Mac running Now Contact?

thx-

PPC-6600 Release Date?

πŸ™„ Does anyone have any idea when this phone will be released for on Sprint...I've tried calling Sprint but as anyone who's ever tried to do that knows its pointless...their reps are utterly clueless about everything! The two reps I spoke with in sales had never even heard of a pocket pc / phone ! 🀣

Operation

I was just hoping that someone could take me thought the process of making a call. Is it easy? Or does it require jumping through menu systems.

Thanks
Ben

Length

Hey they say on the specs that it is a little over 4 inches long. Is that with the keyboard extended or retracted?

Car holder for 6600?

What is available for holding the phone in a car? I prefer a windshield mount as opposed to a vent mount.

Please help! All who have purchased this phone!

Please give your opinions about the PPC-6601 PDA phone. If you want you can also email me your responses.

I'm a business student at San Jacinto College in Houston, TX. I have a formal report due (draft) Sunday, November 28. Also, I must use primary research and the Internet does not count as primary research; however, a forum, which I started the thread does count as primary research.

I'm comparing the Samsung i600, Treo 650, and PPC 6601.
I am using the following criteria in my comparison: price, weight/size, battery life, screen size, ringer options, and extras included.

Thank you!

audiovox

I am really interesting in this phone because it seems to be the only one that has every feature I am looking for. However, everyone keeps telling me to stay away from Audiovox that it is a cheap brand and everything they produce sucks.

I really don't want to go with the Treo because of the Palm OS and the small screen.

Is this phone really reliable and worth the cost or is it too soon to tell?

Accessories

For those that have this device and need more accessories there is a third party making them.

www.boxwave.com has the mini-sync cable and the adapter for car and wall available. looks like they built it from the spec from the OEM (HTC). I ordered the USB sync/power cable and the versa charger and will have an update when they get here. I got a notice that they shipped today.

I have not been able to find the extended battery so may have to wait for the retail release.

I have a 6601 but wanted the 6600. Sprint Cust Serv said it's not available; does anyone know when they will start to carry it?
