Just called Cingular Customer Service! Good NEWS

Yesterday,

I called Cingular. I ask them if the Motorola RAZR V3 would be out anytime soon. They said that too expect it in mid Oct-Early November. So be on the lookout. And they do not know the price yet, but the guy i spoke to seem to be pretty knowledgeable and said probably 350-100 mail in rebate for new activation, and 400-500 for existing. 😁

Sync Abilities

All,

I am currently using a Sony Ericsson K700i, and I have found that it has a limited SyncML capability. Basically what happens is that when I do a sync (either using Sony’s software, or native Bluetooth PIM Sync) my Outlook information is transferred over only partially. For example, my meetings will not have full subjects, or bodies, and my address book info is limited to phone numbers and a single line in the notes field.

I am curious if the RAZR has a more robust sync ability, like the Samsung i500.

Please advise,

Thanks.

A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL! CINGULAR

Hello,
I just got back from one of Cingular's flagship stores in New York. I asked the manager if he knew anything about the Motorola RAZR phone. He told me, now it is called the V3 and he got an email recently saying that this phone will be available at all Cingular Corporate stores in mid September. He did not give me a price. And he was not 100% sure, but he was pretty certain. 😁

Motorola's Address book

Does anyone know if Motorola has any plan at all to improve their address book functionality? I read that you can only have one phone # per contact!

It seems my dream of a good BT flip phone will go unfulfilled a while longer...

This phone will be a BUST just like the V710 was!

This phone does not support voice dialing... Makes the blue tooth 1/2 useless. It's just as bad as Motorola not including file transfer in the V710... Worse actually... The cordless headsets with voice dialing are more usefull then file transfer via bluetooth.

I think this is the beginning of a long downhill slide for Motorola cell phones... They just don't seem to be able to design a FULLY functional product as of late... Always something critical missing... πŸ˜•

Oh well, when their sales start to slide and people stop buying their poorly designed phones "maybe" Moto will get the message... πŸ˜›

Beware of Motorola's Warranty

I purchased an unlocked Motorola 878, which broke three weeks after the purchase. I sent the phone to the Motorola Texas repair center. First they lost the phone then they returned it unrepaired. I have been given several different excuses for Motorola's failure to repair, which includes the following:
(1) The phone was not manufactured in the USA (however, none of the phones are).
(2) The repair is too costly.
(3) The phone was discontinued.
(4) The repair center does not have the parts
(5) Just buy another phone.

To date, Motorola has refused to honor its one year warranty. They have not repaired the phone, replaced the phone or resolved the situtation. During my last call to Motorola, a supervisor just hung up.

IF YOUR CONSIDER...

RAZR V3 for $35?

I just wanted to let you all know that I found a site that is offering to sell you a signal booster for $35, and give you a phone of your choice, including the RAZR. I don't know how legit it is, but I am going to give it a shot I guess. I e-mailed them a few times with questions and they seem genuine, best I can tell. Who knows. Anyhow, the site is www.matrixcool.com

We'll see what happens I guess!

over in the "MotoSummer 2004" discussion:

More tidbits - A630 and V3

A couple of interesting, random things I remembered after publishing the article:

1. During a call, the A630 automatically switches to speakerphone mode when you open it. Very handy if you're talking to someone and need some info from email, the phone book, calendar, etc.

2. The bottom of the V3 (the bulge below the keypad) houses the antenna, Bluetooth module, and polyphonic ringtone speaker. It's also the only plastic part of the case (since metal tends to block radio signals).

Even though that's normally where you would put your hand, and flesh also blocks radio signals, Motorola engineers swear up, down, and sideways that it gets great reception - as good or better than any of their other phones.

So even though it's counter-i...

External Display Lights

Does anyone know if the external display lights/indicators on the RAZR stay on (specifically, the clock or the message waiting indicator)even when the phone is closed?

This was a really nice feature on the E715 (in addition to the flahsing light); with a quick glance at the screen you could see if there was a message waiting, because it stayed illuminated until the message was cleared.

News on servise providers & etc...

I think this phone is really weird looking!!
They keep making a big deal that the phone is really thin but of course look how long it is.
It's a long as three v600 lined up!!! Duh! And the keypad doesn't look to great! And by the way most likely as by what Moto is saying so far the service provider for the phone is going to be T-Mobile. Wich is what I have but I am not planning on getting it! It's ugly looking. I just got the Samsung d-415 slider and it's a GREAT phone! It has great looks and features!! And the features of the Moto V3 isn't that great. It doesn't have video capture. The color is not going to be that great either. But I give the phone on a scale from 1 - 10 a "5". I think they could of made is way smaller and thin too with...
