Samsung SGH-E316 / SGH-E317

sorry if this has already been answered but i cant seem to find the thread for it. ok here it is:

1. how do you change the setting so that the text messages go to the phone memory rather than the sim card memory? ideally i would like to make the phone memory the default one but i cant seem to figure that part out.

2. how do you make all time stamps for text messages and anything else on the non-military time? the time displayed is the 12 hour format but everything else seems to be military.

I just got this phone and this may seem like a stupid question but how do you download new ring-tones and if you can how much are they? Thanks for the help in advance!

I'm ready to sign up for new service with Cingular. Will the e317 be available soon? If not, are there other phones worth waiting for?

In one of the reviews it said that once you record a video, you can't hear it and that you have to hold it up to your ear. Does this mean that the noise is not that loud and that you have to hold it up to hear it good or does it mean you have to actually hold the phone up to your ear and hear it from you earpiece? Hope that's too confusing.

1. Does anyone know when/if alternate face plates or housing will be available for the e316?

2. When transferring ringtones from your PC to your phone, what file formats are accepted for ringtones? Since its polyphonic, I would expect that midis would be compatible, but you never know.

Is there a way to make the service lights flash for missed calls?

I went to Samsung.com to look for this phone cuz I want it for Tmobile. Turns out that the E315 and E317 won't look like this. The E317 will be black and silver. The E315 will be all silver but it dosn't have two service lights like the E316..just one under the external display.

the dimensions for the 316/317 are the same as the x426/x427 so i would imagine all would be compatible

there are a few things i just cant figure out...

1. how do i copy all the numbers on my sim card to the phones memory

2. how do i set t9 as the default for text messaging

3. is there a way i can make it ring and vibrate for a text message?

I bought the phone yesterday at the mall.. and the only concern I have is the caller-id time is on 24hours and the rest of the phone is on 12 hours.. is there any way i can change it? I cant find ANYTHING in the manual

i would like to know how to make this phone 100% silent i know you can put the phone in silent mode by pushing the # key but it only switches ring, and texts alerts to vibrate, i would like the phone to go to complete silence, and no vibration please help.

Does any one know if it's possible to type a text to be shown on the display like for example the person's name??
You know like when you set a banner and instead of the carriers name or even below it you can type something to be always showing up on the phone display??? Can this be done with this phone???

Can you take pictures with the phone closed? If so, does it show the picture on the external display and is it in color? For example: if I'm taking a picture of myself with the phone closed, can I see the picture of myself in full color on the external display? Thanks.

If this phone is scheduled to come out for T-Mobile next month, then how come it's not listed on the list of carriers? Shouldn't it say T-Mobile tentative? Okay I guess that's two questions. 😛
