in one of your posts you said you had nextel for 3 years and can alwaysmake calls when you need to, what area are you in? just interested because i hear of nextel having alot of service problems -thanks

Hi, anyone knows where I can purchase handset manager software (data cable included) for Nextel i860? My friend shows it to me, this cell phone data kit (by MobileAction) provides contact management, wallpaper, image, and video download or upload, ringtone and Java game, and also charging feature. Also, in the software comes with free ringtone and wallpapers!Can anyone tell me where I can buy one of this for my Nextel phone? I really want it badly. Thank you.

whats the difference? boost has the i83"5" now how is it different from the boost i830?

Is there a way to increase the volume to make the ear speaker louder. It seems that when I put the volume to level 7, it's still not loud enough.

Is there a way to make this louder by using special codes on the phone?

My husband's aunt works for nextel and will be able to get us a good deal on these phones(i830). My questions are:

1) is the i830 bluetooth enabled? the aunt says yes, everything I've read says no. we are purchasing a Toyota Prius and it is bluetooth enabled, it would be nice to be able to use the new phones with the new car.

2) i've read that the ringtones can be wav's but in other places they say you can only use nextel's downloadable ringtones, which one is right?

Well i found out that i can send multimedia messages. Gee thanks peoples. N.e Way if anyone has any info on the ringtones (types) please tell me. does it do polyphonic or voice ringtones?

SUp all. Im new to this side of the forums. Well im a cingular customer and the second my contracts up im moving to nextel because i hate cingular!! anyway i've been looking for a phone but i've been having some trouble. This phone looks perfect for me all except for its lack of multimedia messaging. I have to have that feature (or something that can send pics through messages) i've been looking all over the internet for info on this feature and i've come to the conclusion that this phone doesnt do that. someone please tell me if i can send/recieve messages with pics in them or give me a tip on what phone can do this.

Hi all, I heard it from my cousin. She told me that Mobile Action will release Handset Manager data transfer suite for NEXTEL phones very soon. I personally love the Handset Manager data transfer suite for my Motorola V600 very much, but it is also a truth that no one in the states offer data kit for NEXTEL phones.
I plan to purchase one and try it with my father's i730, and also my cousin's i830. Once I test it, I will share my experiences with you. 😁

Can anyone help me download wallpaper for my i830. I tryed to download from Nextel.com but the only wallpapers that they offer are too small for this phone so the picture comes out all distorted. Anyone know how to fix this or where else I can download wallpapers from?

I purchased an unlocked Motorola 878, which broke three weeks after the purchase. I sent the phone to the Motorola Texas repair center. First they lost the phone then they returned it unrepaired. I have been given several different excuses for Motorola's failure to repair, which includes the following:
(1) The phone was not manufactured in the USA (however, none of the phones are).
(2) The repair is too costly.
(3) The phone was discontinued.
(4) The repair center does not have the parts
(5) Just buy another phone.

To date, Motorola has refused to honor its one year warranty. They have not repaired the phone, replaced the phone or resolved the situtation. During my last call to Motorola, a supervisor just hung up.

I've got an i830, and just ordered the "extended" battery & extended door off ebay, but on nextel.com i see listings for a slim and standard battery and their respective battery doors - what is this difference? is the standard the same as extended?

Rumor has it that all the models mentioned in the subject line share the same mic and loudspeaker. Can anyone offer insight? Getting a straight answer from either NEXTEL TECH or IDEN TECH isn't getting me anywhere...

The reason I am asking is that a family member has an i90 whose loudspeaker sounds much fuller and more natural than my i530, which in comparison, sounds shrill & tinny and distorts at high volumes. Sometimes it sounds OK (like when I'm using the earpiece), but I find it substantially easier to converse through the i90.

I am considering upgrading to another "new" model in hopes of better performance, but I don't know if I should just go backwards and try out an i90 until something really stellar comes out.

Will Nextel and Southern Linc ever cooperate with each other and give us the ability to cross talk with each other?

Is it just me or do the batteries for this phone die really fast?
I'd like to hear from other people out there that have this phone... How long does your batter typically last before the phone turns itself off pending a recharge?
I've only been getting about 60% or so of the "expected battery life" out of this thing. If this is normal, I am going back to my old I95cl.
I look forward to hearing back from others.

there just cell phones people,, nothing else, doesnt matter what phone you own, you wont impress anyone cause everyone has a cell phone anyhow, so who cares if nextel doesnt have phones that record and take usless blurry pictures, who cares if nextel's phones are a little bigger in size,, people, dont be pathetic, the purpose of a cell phone is to make a call, i have had nextel for 3 years and i am always able to make a call when i need too, thats what counts, so smarten up, spend your cash on something more useful that a stupid fancy cell phone every other month and move on in life,, its a phone, and only a phone! nothing else.. get it??

Does anybody know how to setup the picture id that phonescoop claims that the i830 has. Also does anybody know how to put a message on the screen like under the word Nextel?
