LG VX-6100

Okay, I placed a message a few days ago. NOW, I was using this phone tonight and sitting still with a perfect signal. About 10 or 15 minutes into the conversation, all of a sudden, it dropped the call. I wasn'tmoving at all, sitting completely still on the sofa. Then I called the person back from the same place and stayed connected for an hour straight. Does anyone else have this problem with their 6100 dropping calls from places that some days (or some hours) they get a great signal and others not??? I am considering getting the Motorola e815, but am worried about the echo that people are complaining about.

I read on this forum that I could record a call with the VX-6100. Well, tried it (and told my fiance I was testing out the recording feature) but it only recorded him speaking and not me talking???

We have the same phone so we ordered replacements (not because of the recording but other issues). Now we have replacement phones and the record feature STILL does not record both parties talking.

Is this a malfunction or a manufacturers issue?

I called Verizon (our carrier) and they claim it's the manufacturer - but why on earth would LG make a record feature that only records half of the conversation????????????

has anyone ever seen a handsfree kit for this phone with a full install setup? i.e. wires to be tied into stereo system for phone audio and mute functions??? Cant seem to find any

I just read your review for the LG VX6100 and saw that you can use your speakerphone with the phone closed. I was wondering if you would be able to help me with that! When I close my phone while on speakerphone, it just hangs up the call.. If you can e-mail me at alison024@gmail.com, I would really appreciate it.

From what I've been reading, I BELIEVE the size limit on mp3 ringtones is 100K, however, I sent my phone a somewhat larger file (over 100K if I remember correctly) and it said it exceeded the 30K limit? My phone tells me 30K, is it really 100K? Also, so far I have been successful sending my phone mp3's (30K or smaller), is it ultimately neccessary to change the format to .mid?

is there any way on this phone that i can keep it on vibrate? i see how to keep the ringtones on, and also on silent but i cant figure out how to make it just vibrate only! please help!

Does the 6100 play mp3's as mp3's or does it just play them as midi?

I just bought the vx 6100 yesterday. It seems like a pretty good phone. too soon to tell. However, I've already experienced the volume bug. I went to Verizon and the tech told me that the software upgrade is not available yet. Then I called 800 cust svc, they had no clue about the bug. I then called LG cust svc, they admitted that there was a bug and they are working on a patch. They gave no estimate of when it will be available. Verizon offered to switch out my phone to another vx 6100. But there is no guarantee that the new phone won't have the same problem. any thoughts? suggestions?

i have been looking on the boards but unable to find the correct answer to this question. Is there a way to voice dial calls when the phone is closed? i know i can do "drive mode", which seems pointless for calling if i have to open the phone anyway- if i open the phone the phone i might as well speed dial the person. I am aware of receiving calls on drive mode, but i am interested in voice dialing calls when the phone is closed. ALSO, is there a way to voice dial (with the phone open) without hitting a key (i.e. just saying "call xxxxxx")? I have a LG 4650, but am curious about the 6100.

Is there a way to block my cell phone number from showing up on others caller id when I place a call to them?

Can someone please tell me how to transfer the pics from the phone onto my pc. Please someone help me.

P.S:I dont want to do it through email.

People have mentioned using a data cable for transferring pics. Is it also possible to download events into the calendar from thunderbird or other calendar software? That would be useful for me.

well, i've had this thing for a week now, and i was expecting the very worst as far as dropped calls. i have traveled extensively in PA, NY, and NJ, and have spent a good chunk of each day on the phone while driving (at least a couple of hours a day over the past 2 days in particular). this phone hasn't dropped a single call yet. it is so strange to me how the same phone can perform so differently for different people!

that said, the call quality leaves a lot to be desired. there is often a persistant static hiss. sometimes there will be an echo. sometimes there will be this background hiss that you hear only after after you say something into the phone. pretty annoying, but not enough to drive me crazy like the voice feedback problem the...

I just picked up a VX6100 for my mom last night. Two questions (for now 😛 ):

1) I had the VX6000 previously. Will the car charger work for the VX6100?

2) Same question for the data cable.

If I don't have to buy new that would be great, and I don't want to damage the new phone. 😳

I have been reading reviews for a while and I am down to these 2 models, LG6100 or LG4650.

Must have tri mode and I want to use the phone to make and receive calls (call me crazy). Reception and call quality is primary. Camera and other fluff if not of concern.

What do you think?

i was wondering if anyone could tell me where i could find a nice case for my phone. its starting to get scratched up. but i heard some cases muffle the sound of the speaker and i'd rather not have that happen! do all the cases have that annoying clear peice across the outside display. because i know how that thing can get dirty. any help would be great. thanks!

ne 1 know why a brand new phone will send a pix message but not be able to receive one. also this phone is unable to send or receive a text message.

My VZW acct is in the Ohio market and Ohio website and CS does not have access to phone. However, I live in the Nashville, TN market. Phone just became available on verizonwireless.com with TN market zip code. I searched under the TN zip and then logged in and chose to upgrade and it let me do it. I even called to confirm that I didnt have to wait until it was available from the Ohio market and they said no, my order was in processing and was scheduled to be shipped out by 5pm today!

Get em while you can. If the buzz is any proof, this phone may be one of the most popular ones yet!

I have had the 6100 for several months now. At first, dropped calls were a problem as I had the Motorola T720 for 2 years and NEVER had a dropped call. Much to my surprise, this situation is just getting worse. VERIZON has exchanged the phone once already and will do it again if I choose to, but I know that it is not just a problem with this specific handset.

ALSO, I have had many many times as well where someone calls and my phone never rings. Their voicemail goes right through to my handset though.

I have updated the towers as Verizon told me to and that does not seem to help at all.

Additionally, when I download the tones from VERIZON get it now ( the real singing ringtones) and preview them....they are choppy the fir...

In my 6100, I constantly hear static in the speaker when I am in a call. Does anyone else have this issue?
