different battery question

I've only had one phone- a Nokia (2yrs) prior to buying my T637. I never had any charging problems with my Nokia..., but with this one...am I charging it incorrectly?

I did as advised and let the phone charge fully when I first got it. Then today, when I was running low on the battery, I let it charge (with out it being "on") for about half the day. When I went back to turn it on - nothing worked.

I took out the battery and put it back in, then the phone worked just fine. Do I have to be careful and not overcharge the phone (i.e. no more than 4 hrs.)? Or should I have the phone turned "on" when I charge it?

I'm thinking now this must have been the same problem with the 1st T637 I returned to the store, thinking it didn't w...

how many contacts?

I'm trying to decide between a Nokia 6600 and T637. The Nokia is said to be able to sync over 500 numbers including addresses. What does the T637 hold? Also, does it hold address info or just numbers?

Size and cost aside, any opinions on which is the better phone to use with Apple's iSync?

Change the T9 language

Hi people. I intend to buy a T630 but I am concerned with the T9 feature.

I would like to know if is it possible to change the T9 language.

If so, where can I find language files to upload and how can it be done.

Thanks a lot.

Regards,
Paulo

carrier logo

Is there any way to get a phone from ATT, or any other carrier for that matter, without the carrier's logo? Alternatively, is it possible to remove the logo without damaging the phone?

Cheers,
Zoid

T637 Battery Life

I've seen some threads on this but I'd like to ask for similar experiences and how I can solve the problem of short battery life.

My T637 has horrible battery life.... I have alll of the potential juice draining features turned OFF (like bluetooth). 24 hours of standby with minimal talk and the indicator is very low.

Any thoughts? normal for this phone?(supposedly 300hrs of standby!)

thanks very much

Cingular or ATT?

I am debating whether to buy this phone on Cingular or ATT. I live in NYC.

Due to the merger is one better than the other?

Which one has better internet services?

Are people certain that only ATT will be able to use Cingular and not vice versa?

Thanks...

T637 and automating long dial strings

Well, I'm a new Cingular and SE user after many years of Sprint and Samsung & LG phones.

One feature I cannot seem to find is a way to automate the entry of keystrokes --- typically for getting into corporate voicemail or using a calling card.

I thought this was such a no-brainer that I did not even check it in the research I did...

I just want to be able to enter pauses and special characters (such as #) into my dialing... can't seem to do it!

Hopefully, someone can point out my oversight (I know that there is a credit card option but that doesn't allow for timed pauses, and special characters)

thanks

T637 Battery

OK this is a stupid question but how do I remove the battery at the back of the phone? I just got my phone and I left the charger in over night and now my phone won't power up (although the red light on the joystick works when you insert the charger) Anyone have any recommendations? I thought maybe if I remove the battery and reinsert it might reset the phone.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

T637 Cingular Rebate

I am planning on getting a T637 through Cingular around the first week in July in DC metro area. Cingular currently has the phone for $149.99, with a $50 rebate if you purchase before June 30. Does anyone know what if any specials Cingular will be running on that phone after July 1st?

Having Problems with Shortcuts!

Man, this is frustrating...

The other 600 series phones on the main screen had a "More" selection for the right button that would take me to shortcuts. I have ATTWS, so it's mapped to an mMode button that I never use. If I press the stick left, it will only take me to the first Shortcut in the list of "My Shortcuts". How can I get to the other shortcuts? Can I remap the mMode button to be a "More" button?

I would like to be able to quickly change profiles and particularly have a shortcut to disable/enable Bluetooth as I'm finding leaving it on all the time absoulutely sucks the life out of the battery.

Thanks!

Speed Dialing Question

😕 Got the T637 (ATT) and am liking it a lot. The screen is phenominal.

Anyway, I'm struggling with the speed dialing function. I want to save my work and home voice mail dialing sequences (the voice mail number, my extension, a password, some # signs and pauses, etc.) to speed dial. I created the sequence in the phonebook and can call from there and it works fine. The problem is that is seems like speed dialing works from the SIM and not the phonebook, so...

When I copy the phonebook to the SIM, these records don't copy over. I tried to add it to the SIM directly and the phone won't let me because the number is too long. How lame!

Anyone else find a way around this or know why there would be such a silly limitation on an otherwi...

T637-Compatible Handsfree Headsets?

I would like to get a non-Bluetooth handsfree headset for my SE T637. What options do I have? What sort of connector is used?

I would like to get a product by Jabra or Plantronics but they don't seem to offer anything compatible with this phone. What options remain, besides SE's Portable Handsfree HPS-20?

Just got it...

...and I have a question and some comments.

Question:

I'm in the USA, (newly on Cingular) and the phone is the "liquid black" model. Is the white model available in the US?

Comments:

I'm "upgrading" from the T616 and I find the T637 sort of an aesthetic step backwards... and the construction, especially the buttons, doesn't seem as solid as the T616. Actually, some of the buttons seem a little loose.

Am I just being picky and resistant to change, or do any others see the same shortcomings compared to the T616/T610 model?

I'd like to hear your thoughts. At this point, if Cingular still offered the T616, I think I'd exhange the T637 for it. Am I crazy?
