New Compacts?

I hope this means that whatever new higher-end devices, Z6 Compact or the like, also comes to the US, with all features like the fingerprint sensor. Though I like the metal back of the new phones they just announced, I'm way too addicted to glass screen protectors to ever want something with a curved front glass, since then you can't ever cover it and have it look normal like on a flat glass screen.

No Premium?

Why not bring the Z5 Premium to the states too?

Best Small Phone!

I'm so glad Sony is finally releasing these, officially, in the US so I won't have to import one...though the price has come down on the imports so hopefully they'll sell for lower than the stated MSRPs. Either way, Sony is the only company making GOOD small phones, and really, the only company making anything remotely small in the first place, which is unfortunate, but means the Z5 Compact has been on my radar a while. :-D

Snap the Dragon

Snapdragon 810?
Thermal Issues galore.
Go with the 808 or just have used a MediaTek X10 Helio until the Snapdragon 820 is released.

This is a flagship phone for 2015/2016?

Based on the specs, seems more like a 2014/2015 flagship. Where's the 2K screen? 4GB Ram?

Lame, Sony. Lame.

Really?

I'm SO disappointed! No Band 13 for VZW which opens the door for another bastard stepchild version! I agree with the you Tofuchong, specs are SUBPAR! MORE market share is LOST for Sony! Guess I'll be looking harder @ the LG V10, DAMN!!

Seriously Underrated Devices!

I currently have a Z4v and think it is an Outstanding device! I think Sony needs to do more promotion and advertising work on these devices because spec and performance wise... they ROCK!

USA availability

I seriously hope SoftBank worked its magic with Sony and lined up a Z5/Z5C/Z5P for Sprint CDMA version!

Not Much Of An Upgrade For The Compact

All the other sites are reporting that the compact only has 2 gigs of ram. I wish it did have 4. Frankly, except for the camera having more megapixels and a modest upgrade in the CPU the Z5 Compact is the same as the Z3 Compact.

Innovation??

"We at Sony recognize the competitive landscape..." Announce phone with more pixels. Headphones. And a walkman.
