I would first like to say that this is a great phone. The battery lasts surprisingly long (3 days). I've had it for over a week now and I have yet to see a "no service" message. The games are cool, the streaming video is cool, the camera provides high quality pics, even at low resolutions (As long as the lighting is right) That said, I have a couple of issues with the phone.

First issue: Speaker phone. Everything I have read about this phone implied that there would be a speaker phone. I've gone through every single menu on the phone and have been unable to locate this alleged feature, nor is it mention in the manual at all

second issue: Whenever I charge my phone overnight, it seems to freeze on the charge complete screen, and I have ...

A couple questions to the folks with the 8000 (and I apologize if these have already been asked):
1. Anyone know the memory capacity of the phone as far as how many photos it will hold?
2. For the invites: do you guys have particularly large access plans (data or voice) to qualify for the special invitation? That is, is there something unique about your account for VZW to send the offer to you or were you just lucky to get your name drawn from a hat? Just wondering what's up VZWs sleeve.

I've been reading about this phone since it was approved by the FCC back in Feb. '04. Since then I have read about numerous technological breakthroughs in cell phone technology.

The VX8000 has been ready and waiting nine months (and likely to end up being eleven months) for a system capable of supporting it. When it comes to cellular technology this is a substantial amount of time.

My question is this. With five megapixel cameras, micro drives, new & brighter flashes and displays having been announced since the approval of the VX8000 and all described as available soon - is the VX8000 an already obsolete phone?

I just finished charging up my new VX8000, called the Verizon activation number and found out that Verizon has not figured out how to activate the new phones yet. The "activation specialist" I spoke with suggested I call back next week! Anyone else succeed in getting their phone to work? 😢 😢 😢

For those how are lucky to test the 8000... Do you still recommend waiting for the 8000 or is the 7000 about equal?

Sorry, I've been looking around, but just joined. I would like to know a few answers, sorry if they've been asked before, but thanks for answering them.

1) I hear the phone is bigger. I drew out the dimensions on paper, and it does seem rather large. For those that have had the phone in there hand, is it gigantic, or is it large enough to seem sturdy. And with it being larger, are the keys big too?

2) I've never had a speakerphone, and it's one of my most greatest desire. Does the speakerphone operate easily, and does it sound good on either end?

3) Does the 8000 have the built in Mobile IM feature on the menu like the 7000?

4) Pictures seem to be of pretty good quality. Are there any conditions where pics don't take as well as o...

Has anyone receive the Mobile Office kit? How does it work? 😕 Can transfer pictures ring-tones etc directly from the PC to the phone or do you have to transmit then via email wirelessly to the phone? How well does it save your settings on your phone or your data?

Just wondered what kind of luck the testers are having with the phone out in fringe areas since it is not tri mode. Here in Ohio the system is mostly digital but can suddenly switch to analog in certain areas.

Just wondering what those of you that are testing this phone thinks. I am the type of person who does not use the phone for internet ,email or TM. A speakerphone & camera is a must. Most of all the phone must sound good and be dependable with a decent battery life. Aside from looking really cool is this phone that much more superior to the 6100 to justify the extra cost?

As most of you know, I purchased the LG VX-8000 from an individual one week ago. It has about 20 hours use on it, works flawlessly, and has no scratches or anything.

Today I received the special invite in the mail from Verizon! So, I'm willing to let the purchased 8000 go and recoup my costs.

Hi, Anyone that has the VX8000 could you please tell me what ringtone sites are already on that phone since its not listed on the get it ow website yet. I was mostly wondering if it has sony music box, track magnet, or modtones DJ the sites that have the real music tones cuz im looking for a phone i like that has those ring sites on the get it now and i like that vx8000 and will eventually be getting it but was wondering if those sites our on the phone yet THANKS to anyone who can answer have a great day!!! 🙂 😁
