Motorola MPx220
Cingular® Aware Of Problem(s)
Author of the post says he spoke with a Cingular® corporate store manager and was told they [Cingular®] were aware of the low volume problem and some other problems (that he would not disclose) and was sending any phones they had in stock (I suppose ones they had in stock for when they can sell them) back to Motorola®.
I certainly hope this is true because I love the features of this phone and want to get one again, but I do not love the quirks.

I like the Windows® O.S. and am over Moto's tired phone book, which I understand the V3 still has. There was a time I was all about the V3, but I am over it and mostly because of the price. I will just be settling for a (fixed) MPx220 or the V551.

-one Mpx220 purchased in a suburb of Chicago. the volume is really pretty good and when I set the Outdoor profile it's really quite good. however, when I power off the thing doesn't power off 98% of the time. the keypad light, external screen and internal screen are all on. the external screen displays the "M" logo and the internal screen is a blank, white screen. I have to remove the battery to get it to power down.
-one Mpx220 that I purchased in Texas last week that has the worst earpiece volume of any phone I have EVER owned but it powers off very well.
