Motorola V220

would like to know if this phone has an address book for addresses.

I have a few questions about my Moto v220. First of all, do you all find that it crashes often? That you have to take the battery out and reset the phone sometimes? Is this normal?

Another thing i wanted to do is to delete the built-in pictures and video. Is that possible? If so, how?

When i recieve text messages, they automatically come in my inbox without an alert showing up on my front screen. I've checked and rechecked all my options and my SMS is turned on. What am i missing?

Hey I have this phone from Cingular and they don't give you many ringtones to begin with 🙄 , and I wanted to know where I could find those free midi ringtones. I have a USB cable, now I just need to find a place to get the ring tones.

how good is the camera on the v220? how is it compared to the v400?
It is like the v400 and also when u take a picture does it show you how much space you have left like the v400 😁

I'm about to purchase this phone, however I really want the V872 Tri-Band. Has anyone had any experience with the V872? It's $399 and I want to make damn sure it's worth the investment.

on both the front and main screen of my phone (cingular service) i started to get a blimking icon that's a square with a red arrow over it and a red arrow under it. it's been blinking all morning, and i'm not sure what it means.

Does anybody know the subsidy password for the AT&T V220 or know how to unlock the phone?

Can i just use my mini usb cable that came with my digital camera? (It has one end small usb one end computer sized) or do i need to buy the whole motorola package for it with the software.

i've found a link to a site explaining how to increase the volume (at the hardware level) on the v400 phone. the site says this should work for the other Vxxx phones, but on the V220, the files it speaks of are not existant. specifically the gain table file.

does anyone have any more information about how to increase the volume at the hardware level on the v220 phone?

I see alot of threads here, but I couldn't find the answers to be consistent, so here goes:

1. Is there and free SW to replace the Mobile Phone Tools SW that Motorola sells for $30?
2. If so where? I downloaded that zip file below and that did nothing for me (http://www.motclub.com/down/driver/...)
3. Can you upload/download all media? Including phonebook, ringtones, pictures, video?

I already have the mini-USB cable, so all I need is the SW.


A few other points...I like this phone so far, but I'm not sure I won't upgrade to the V400. It has a much bigger screen, 5MB of memory vs. 1MB, although camera is the exact same. Only disadvantage I see is the special USB cable you have to buy.

Any other views???

Hello. I am brand new to the forum.
I just got a new Motorola V220 from Cingular. I like the phone but the volume seems very low even when it is set on the highest setting. I took it back and compared it to the new Samsung X427M and the Samsung was much better. I checked my old Star Tac and it was much better. I am afraid it I have to use this phone in a somewhat noisy environment that I would not be able to hear at all. Has anyone else had a problem with this?

I don't see the date and day on the phone's display. On other phones I've owned, the date/day were displayed right next to the time. With the v220, only the time is displayed on the LCD screen.

Is there anyway to display the date/day?

Or do I need to go to the datebook if I want to know the date or day with this phone?

How many voice dials are allowed on this phone? I have applied voice-dialling to 5 numbers, and it says 'Voice Dial Memory full'. Is five the maximum??

Has anyone here tried to increase the ringtone and speaker volume of the phone?? I know it works for a V300 and up but i haven't been able to increase it on the V220.

hello, just got this phone and i am wondering how i get charged for AIM messages? Is there just something that charges by usage or does it list buddy names as it would list phone numbers? thank in advance.

When did AT&T decided to carry this phone? I have a hard time sending stuff to my phone because it was never listed under my carrier? 🙄
