phone keeps freezing!!

just got my A680 the other day and while i think its great, my only problem is that its crashed on me three times now.

it only happens when i receive a call and open the phone to answer (its set on flip mode). the screens then freeze and i cant do anything w/o yanking the battery and re-powering up.

it doesnt happen every time i answer, but three times in two days is a concern.

anyone else have a similar prob?

Should I Switch

Currently I use the Sanyo VM4500. It is having a lot of network problems and has been having netwoork problems since the day I got it. I have the chance to get this phone without having to pay anything and was wondering if it would be a smart or dumb change. I have had two other samsung's and did not like them, however, the reviews are outstanding on this phone. Anyone have any suggestions, Sanyo or Samsung???

Question about A680

I just got the A680 yesterday!! I had a VGA 1000 and it had some problems (would not ring). So, they gave me this one as the replacement!!!!
Anyways, question is this:
Does the External LCD Always go back to the mirror?? Is there a way I can keep the clock on it? If not it's okay, but it's just bugging me because I can't figure out how to leave the clock on it!
Thanks ;)

One-touch or speed dialing???

Does anyone know if/how this phone has speed dialing? I don't want to go through the phonebook for numbers I dial every single day. Thanks.

Finally A-GPS?

I talked to SprintPCS earlier today and they said that the SPH-A680 will have GPS functions that actually work! This includes E911, driving directions and more.

Sure, you may say, my old SprintPCS phone is GPS "ready." But does it actually work? I don't think so. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong). Certainly, nothing interesting happens on my Sanyo 8100 other than getting a little icon on the screen.

Why does this matter? I'm not all that excited about walking past restaurants that then beep my phone to sell me discount hamburgers. The reason is that I want to switch off the landline and use a mobile phone instead. But I won't do that until 911 knows where I am calling from.

alarm when off?

Had a Nokia a long time ago that had a nice feature: when the phone was off, the alarm would still sound.

Since then, have only had Samsung phones. Have always wished they too had this feature.

Does the a680?

Voice Dialing?

I just got this phone and since Sprint has pay voice dialing on their system, they apparently forgot to cover how to access and use this feature in the manual provided with the phone. Funny, they didn't forget to mention how to access the pay voice dialing. Thanks for advance for any help.

MMS question

Excuse me in advance if this topic has already been answered, but I was wondering if this phone had the ability to instantly receive messages/reply to messages on the phone itself without having to connect to a server. My current GSM phone gets and sends text messages with speeds close to that of MSN or AOL on my PC and I have heard that Sprint was different and required an intermediate step which slowed down the process.

Picked mine up today :D

The local PCS store here in Hartford, CT had them tonight. Only paid $309.99. Now begins the agony of transferring my phonebook......

How much memory does the a680 have?

I have a Sanyo 8100, and my only real complaint is that it doesn't have much memory for ringers and pictures. I'm thinking about getting either the Sanyo 8200, Sanyo 4500/5500, or the Samsung a680. I work for an indirect wireless dealer and just found out that Wel'll have this phone in a couple of weeks. Can someone let me know how much memory there is, I can't find out anywhere. Thanks.

Vibrate Feature

I am debating replacing my sanyo 8100 for this phone but there is a feature my sanyo has that my previous samsungs didn't and want to know if anyone knows if this feature was added with this phone. the feature essentially changes the ringer to an actual ring when it is put on the charger, this way if you always leave the phone on vibrate you won't have to miss calls while the phone is charging. would appreciate anyone that has this phone to check this out for me. thanks

wheres the speaker darnit

man this phone looks extremely hot but why oh why couldnt samsung put a speakerphone on it. i love samsung they are the best! ive had three. i purchased the sanyo 8200 last week and i am returning it because sanyo, no matter how hard they try cant compare. the voice quality sucks compared to samsung. so i'll be using my good old sam a600 til samsung comes out with speaker and all the features of this phone...anyone know when that might be by the way? 🙂

Type in your Zip Code to see if a store around you has one.

I haven't seen one anywhere yet, but this means it could happen in a few days.
