When will Verizon offer the Treo 650?

I'm looking to purchase the new Treo 650 and understand Verizon does not support this phone at the current time...Does anyone know the timetable for the Verizon rollout of this phone? Thanks!

Real Music Or Polyphonic Ringtone Support?

Greetings,

Does anyone know if this phone supports 'real music' ringtones, or just polyphonic MIDI ringtones?

And by ringtones, I mean files one can actually assign as a ringtone, not just a file one can play in a media player or other application.

Thank you,

/e

Treo connection to the web

Hi Everyone,

In a different forum, someone suggested that the Treo is designed to maintain a constant web connection (see below). I don't need a constant link to email. It would be nice to have a PDA/cell phone combo anyway.

My understanding is that I can change the Treo's settings to only go on the web when I want it to. Then I could just use my plan minutes to access the web instead of paying for a data package. Am I right about this?

Thanks!

Tom

I'd go for the camera phone rather than wait for the TREO; the treo is designed to maintain a constant connection while waiting for incoming emils etc; Thus you must add a data package of 29.99 for 5mb or 49.99 for unlimited use. Otherwise

Has anyone else had problems with antivirus programs and their Treo 600? I have installed both the free version of pc cillin and paid (too much) for Norton and the both cause my phone to reset when I try to run them. 👿

Treo 600 (CDMA) ringer volume?!?!

What's up with the vibrate not vibrating so well, and the ringers not being very loud? I have the phone and I really like it alot. I especially like the switch on top to go to silent mode. My main concern, BY FAR, is that sometimes I don't feel it vibrating on my belt and I miss calls, only to notice when I actually look at the screen.

Obviously the vibrate issue can't be tweaked. But when I have this phone on my belt with ringer volume high+vibrate, I still sometimes miss calls when it's attached to my body! I mean, I wear a big coat and whatever since I live in a cold climate, but still... I never had problems with other phones, smartphones...

Anyone have any idea how to tweak the phone so that the ringer is louder that the high...

NO grafitti in the treo??!!!??

i am curious. i own the kyocera 7135 palm phone. it's gotten better even though it originally sucked and had major technical problems. i like it now that i've seen the treo 600. the main drawback i see with the treo 600 is that YOU CAN'T WRITE IN IT!!?? Why would anyone buy it!? I mean seriously, the keyboard might be cool an all, but how could anyone give up the ability to write information in their palm/phone!? I am curiuos as to what you all think. Because my friend and I see this as a major problem. I even used to use my finger nails to write, but with a treo 600, you cant even do that!!!! WOW!

THOUGHTS AND EXPERIENCES WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Treo 600 Palm Verizon outgoing mail server

Does anyone know the outgoing mail server?

I'm using SnapperMail. I have no problem with incoming, I use our in-house server but I need their outgoing server.

I've tried:
mail.verizon.net
mail.verizon.com
smtp.verizon.net
smtp.verizon.com

I've searched and searched to no avail.

data connection in Treo

It seems that my Treo is making data connections on regular basis. While a data call is in progress (as indicated by two green arrows above the signal strength bars), I am unable to receive calls.

The one app I think may be causing this is OneBridge, which I use to download my Outlook data. However, as far as I can tell, it is set to sync manually only. It seems that the data connection stays open even after sync'ing.

Does anyone have experience with this app?
Is there a way to turn off the data connection?

Oh, by turning off wireless mode, the problem goes away until I manually sync the OneBridge app again.

Thanks.
