Writing on the wall...

I am going to open a debate here and am looking forward to hearing your replies.

Does anybody see the writing on the wall for this phone or other phones that adopt 3D technology? While I think 3D technology is great, is it really necessary to bring to the phone? Smart-phones are in essence phones that are to bring all of our tasks (entertainment, news, communication, etc.) into one device. Now I can see where it has its pros for entertainment now, but, as far as I can see, the pros end there.

Any input that can help arrive at a different conclusion?

OK Seriously

This whole patent thing has gone way WAY out of porportion lately. It seems there needs to be a major gap in the patenting process that needs to be closed up to keep upstarts from hanging onto an idea drawn on a napkin in the hopes they can sue Apple or whoever when they come up with the same idea all on their own.

Uh, oh

I just hope those upgrades don't screw up phones like the Gingerbread update did for Sprint's Optimus S.

Menu lights at the bottom of the device don't stay on long enought...

I am unable to find any adjustment to keep them on. I'm talking about the Menu, Home, Return and Search fixed buttons at the bottom of the device. Is there ANY way to adjust the time that they stay on or make them stay on with the screen??? This is very frustrating. Any advice.

Thank you,

E

How is the reception folks?

Are you getting the same or better reception than other phones you have (had)?

If you live in a "4G" area, are you getting it?

How is the screen in the sunlight?

Love the phone...few issues though...

Coming from Sprint, the Evo.

Picked up the Thrill Saturday and although the phone is great, I have some issues that may be a deal killer.
1) Under the contacts there is a section for notes. I have some contacts with several paragraphs of notes. However with the Thrill the note section is limited to a certain amount of characters. I'm losing access to important information.

2)The bottom row of hardware buttons does not stay light up for very long and when you need it, you have to guess and hope you're hitting the correct button to light them up and even then they only stay light up for a few seconds. I've checked all settings and can't find any adjustment...

3) The camera lags when starting up. Not a huge deal, but there are some ...

Any news on when we're getting this?

Been a long wait ! !

Well certainly has been a long wait. However looks like Sept.4th is good to go on Thrill availability !! Just hope the one available is black, not dark blue. AT&T Optimus version (that AT&T has as demo units) has an extremely good viewing angle versus the blue diamond pattern on back of unit, which has had a limited viewing angle. Actually The Shack get's truck n on wednesday's, so maybe I'll b able to get on 31st ? Sure have been impressed with Smartbench, Quadrent & Linpack scores of unit. Although Samsung Galaxy SII is somewhat faster & of course killer SUPER AMOLOED PLUS screen is a killer screen, with chrisp & ultra bright colors & less voltage usage, since background is naturally black, with no power use. Until next week. Later, Freddi...

This or the infuse?

I'm going to be getting an atnt company line and I am curious how this would stand against the infuse. The thing that intrigues me the most is that its a dual core with 3d functionality, and I want a dual core for when android ice cream sandwich comes out and a 3d phone, but the infuse is pretty sweet too..

LG Thrill @ AT&T stores

Not for sale of course. But they do have the
unit for employee training purposes. Played with one for more than an hour today. Fairly impressive, very fast & I use a Moto Atrix
dual core. 3D takes a little getting use to. I happen to have mono vision (1 eye for reading & 1 for distance), so 3D doesn't work to well for me. The 1 they had did say AT&T LG Thrill on box, however it was an Optimus (same phone), diff appearance. Not darkish blue carbon fiber appearance on back, brushed Aluminum upper & lower of front screen area Black brushed, chrome around edge anodized black instead of chrome. Radio Shack sticking with 8/21 delivery. Lighter & thinner than my Moto Atrix. Screen brightness & crispness similar to Atrix. So go down to u're local ...

Unnoticed phone power & speed !!

A lot of folks are waiting for the Samsung Galaxy SII. Killer phone 1.2 ghz. dual core, 1 gig ram, etc. However even though the LG Thrill 4G is only a 1ghz (TI omap) dual core & 512 megabits of ram. What we're missing is it's not only Dual Core processor & ram, it's ALSO Dual Channel. It's like 2 four lane highways instead of 2 two lane highways. So basically it carries twice as much data, the Thrill can carry two thirds more info from point A to point B. Even though it runs a little slower, because it carries twice as much !! 😎

HELLLLOOOOOOOO......Nobody?

Optimus 3D should be the phone EVERY SINGLE AT&T CUSTOMER is waiting for. Being a Verizon Sales Rep I drool over the fact that you get this and we do not. Dual core? 3d display? great design? What else could you ask for? Ohhh yeah...Perfection. And no one will give LG that chance or even the same courtesy they give HTC or Crapple... 🙄 But I guess thats why they made it for AT&T...and the joneses type customers that come with it. 🤣

Question

While its all well and good:

What happens when you transfer these captured 3D Pics and Vids to your PC or send them to another phone?

the Display is the key, along with the camera, i get that... but will images and vids be 3D (but need glasses) when viewed on another machine?
