Voice Scheduler

When entering data into the Voice Scheduler the Content page gives you multiple lines on the screen but severly limits you to the number of characters you can enter. Does anyone know if this can be changed so I can enter more info about appointments on the calendar? Or am I just doing something wrong?

Sending email with this phone....w/o browser-adding free ringtones and wallpaper

Perhaps I am just slow in finding this out. However, if you go into messaging mode and instead of selecting a contact or keying in a pone number; try keying in a full email address. Then type your message and hit send.

It worked for me and sent to both Yahoo and RoadRunner.

The next thing I am trying to find out is how to add MY OWN message object to the phone so that I can attach it to an email or text message. LG had no idea on this. And sending myself an email to the phone with a mid or bmp attachment did not work either.

Will be playing with the BITPIM program and the Verizon Drivers and USB cable to see if I can figure it out. Recommendation: If you use BITPIM, it may take a few times to connect to the phone with your PC via US...

VX4500 Portable Car Mount

I see on the LG website for this phone, that there is a Portable Car Mount available. Anybody know about this? I tried calling LG's wireless accessory department, but they were of no real help.

I'm looking for a good way to mount the phone in the car and really don't want to use non-oem equipment. The visor solution with the beltclip is good, but the visor on my car is too thick.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Scheduler

does anyone know a quick way, via one button to access your schedule. I realize that you can use the voice dialing button to access your schedule but it will not bring up the schedule unless you have something scheduled that day....i would like to see the schedule. with my siemens phone with at&t I could use a one touch button for the calendar...anybody know an easy way to voice tag or one touch to get to different screens without hitting menu, and then the numbers?

Vx4500 Horrible Display

Ladies, (Verizon & LG Media Contacts)

The purpose of this e-mail is to find out if you are aware of the 4500's extremely poor display and if there is a "fix" and more importantly find out how this happened. Someone(s) really blunder.

After coming out with such a GREAT Phone (the LG VX6000), with a fantastic display (which can easily be seen in direct day light and in vehicle) how did the 4500 even make it out the door?

There is no question that having a great handsfree phone is a very useful feature, but not at the expense of the display or increased battery life. I'd much rather give up the color display. I want functionality, usability, convenience and increased safety, not beauty.

Our company was looking forward to the VX4500...

Holster or leather case?

I'm having trouble on deciding which to use with my brand new LG VX4500. What are some pros and cons of using either one. Please give me feedback? I cant decide. I like the leather case because it swivels, but it makes the phone bulky and the phone is not bulky like the 4500. One of the reasons I like the phone so much is because it is so thin. I like the holster it comes with because it doesn't make the phone bulky, but it is harder to take out of the holster and I don't want to risk dropping it, and scratching my wonderful phone. I keep going back and forth with this one. Please anyone let me know what you do or if you know of any other phone case that you have found to work better than the holster and the leather case.

Lg: Accessory gouging?

Hey folks:
I just spoke with Lg and found out that if I want the extended battery, I have to spend an extra $30 (on top of the $58.50 they charge for the battery) to get the travel charger - since the 4500 with the extended battery will not fit into the charger that comes with the phone. I have had phones from other companies and this is the first time that I have heard of this!
Of course, we can go to FACTORY DIRECT CELLULAR (http://www.factorydirectcellular.com/home/lg e/lgvx4400.htm#chargers) and pay a LOT less, but I am concerned about the safety (for the phone) of after market accessories.
Any opinions?

Hands

I realized that while wearing a head set I could hit the voice button on the outside of the phone with the handset closed and make phone calls with voice dial...problem, I cannot find a hands free head headset with a on/off button. It is incredibly stupid to have to open the handset and then close it when you want to end a call...after all you have made the entire call by only touching one OUTSIDE button. I realize you can just wait for the other person to hang up but that is not always the best way (checking voice mail)...does anyone know how to end a call with the outside buttons (with a hands free headset on), or a head set that works for this phone with an on/off button(i returned the Jabra one that had no on/off button)

contacts groups issue

just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience....
when viewing a group of the contacts ( family, friends, ....) you can't call any of the contacts except for if you view the goups while viewing all the contacts, under options - find group. but then it doesn't call correctly except for the first page of contacts, but even then who knows.

when viewing a group of contacts you can just hit ok on a contact and then send to call them, so it isn't a big deal, just wondering if anybody else's phone does the same thing.

I wonder why they wouldn't put the same functionality that is there when you view all the contacts when you view them by group or however else...???

pretty stupid.

thanks for the input

voice mail

I have entered my phone number in the voice mail area of the phone..this means that I can press and hold the one(1) key to access my voice mail without using airtime because I have unlimited in network calling.....as opposed to dialing *86...which uses minutes....now for the question....When you press and hold the envelope key (lower part of navigation key) it dials your voice mail as well only it uses *86 to dial....asked LG and they said when i change my number in the voice mail area it should work for both buttons...said to take back to verizon...did that and then the envelope button dialed my voice mail number (my phone number)....now few hours later it is back to dialing *86....arrggghhh....cant believe this new phone is doing this too....

speaker mode

i'd like to keep my phone setting in the speaker mode, but sometimes it simply opts out of this setting after a call, or sometimes just on it's own free will. has anyone else experienced this, and is there a fix ? 😕

speaker closed

I have discovered that you can press the up button on the navigation circle and turn the speaker on. when you close the flip it will say "speaker on" on the outside lcd. i haven't been able to determine what the purpose of this is. if anyone figures this out, let me know.

Firmware Updates

I just got the phone today and I was wondering if there were any firmware or software updates? If so, how do I go about upgrading the phone?

Thanks,

Speaker Announcements

I just received my 4500 and can't find an answer in the manual. When you want to dial using the voice commands, I push the side button. The speaker then belts out "please say a command". Can the speaker be turned off so the sound comes out of the ear piece instead?

vibrate

To get in manner mode, hold the bottom volume button while flip is closed.

As Matt said, to get vibrate and ring combo press top volume past high ring.

After market accessories?

Do any of you have opinions/experience with after market accessories, especially the extended battery and mobile office kit?

ring and vibrate?

Is there a setting to have the phone ring and vibrate in whichever order? Only way I've found to get it to vibrate is in manner mode.

Missed call or message waiting indicator?

With the phone closed, can you tell if you've missed a call or have a message waiting?

Thank you!

Hmmm, i am starting to turn on this phone...

I was originally pumped to get this phone, i was excited about the "hands free" and new voice technology and really was looking for a phone that was built good and i really didnt need a camera phone.

Now after reading all the questions and comments i am a bit torn.

First, do you really have to go through those steps to use the voice dialing? It seems you have to go through just as many steps as buttons you would have to press so what is the advantage? I have the LG TM510 and the voice dialing is you hit one button and say the name and it dials.

Second, the speaker can work w/ the clam closed but you almost have to trick it.

I am wondering if i was just excited that verizon actually came out w/ a new phone or if i really...
