LG VX-4500

I like when pressing the button on the headset takes you to the voice activated dialing. Can the 4500 do this?

I am about to return my Motorola V710 mainly because of the Outlook sync issues it has- using Verizon software there is no calendar sync and using Mobile Phone Tools, there are a number of items that just won't import in both the phonebook and the datebook, like recurring appointments, and additional fields such as location and comments. Neither program will import Outlook Tasks, which is where I keep my lists of important stuff. Both Microsoft and Symbian smartphones do this flawlessly, but I need to be on Verizon for the coverage.

So... I am looking at the VX-4500. I see that there are a couple of software packages out there like Datapilot and FutureDial that may or may not do what I require.

Just got this phone last night and I can't figure out how to change the outside screen color when receiving a call, checking the time, etc. I could with the 4400. It's no big deal if I can't but would like to know if I'm being unusually stupid this morning! 😉

I currently have a 4400, but am about to purchase the 4500. Does anyone know if the car charger for the 4400 is useable for the 4500?

I would like to find a true sync solution between Outlook calendar and my VX4500. I am using Datapilot, and while it is a major improvement over the Verizon software (which was truly marginal), it still leaves much to be desired. I had a Siemens phone, and their software solution was perfect, but it does not support LG phones.

Any suggestions?

From the reviews & this forum it sounds like this is a good phone, but it could be a lemon & after 30min of talk time all you have is the LG warranty.

So the next question: How good is LG at honoring its warranty?

If I go to my calendar (menu 7 2)Then go to options, then press 2 which is "go to date" I don't get any further. It does not display anything else. No place to put in a "go to date". Can someone try it on their phone to see if it is the same?

Is there a way to make the receipt of incoming messages silent when the ringer is on or vibrate is on. I'd like to be able to know the phone is ringing for a call but not necessarily be notified or interrupted by the incoming message.

Am I missing something, or have I gone backwards here? On my 4400 I could record a voice command for each number I entered for a contact (1 for "Mary home", 1 for "Mary cell", etc.). Now with the 4500 I seem to only be able to voice dial the default number for each contact. Is this right or is there a way to voice each number I assign to a single contact?

Why doesnt the 2nd display light stay on after closing the flip on LG 4500? Thank you for any info.

I just got this phone a week ago after being stuck with an Audiovox for 2 years that had poor battery life. Anyway what a relief to go days without worrying that my phone's battery is running out.

One question though...is there a way/ setting that I am missing because every call I place the recieving end complains they cannot hear me. I've tested this by calling my home lan # and the sound is very faint and distant.

I can hear callers from the cell great, they just can't hear me. This is so with speaker phone and without.

I travel from NYC to Philly to NE Pennsylvania. The antenna bars range from 2 to 6 bars in any location but the problem is the same.

I can't figure out how to get it to STAY on the IPOD/T9 way. For example, instead of typing all the letters, I just want to type one letter and then slect the world. Motorola did this so simply, I don't get it here...

Does anyone know if there is a way to password protect or restrict access to the call history and messages? I just replaced my motorola t720 with the LG 4500 and like all the features, however the security features are not quite as good or else I am just not able to figure it out.

I hope someone can help me. I have recently purchased an LG VX4500 and I would like to download some songs from a URL on the internet. I am instructed to enter the URL into my phone in order to download, but I am not sure which menu I would use or how to even enter the URL.
