v810 photos

I have applied some photos taken with my v810 at high resolution to contacts in the phone book.

When I receive an incoming call from a contact with the applied photo, the displayed photo is miniscule and virtually non-discernible. Beneath the tiny photo appears the contact name.

I attempted to decrease the photo resolution, and re-apply to the contacts, but the photo detail still states 640x480 kb (high resolution).

Nevertheless, contact photo display is still small.

My hunch is if it can fill the screen when viewing the stand-alone photo, it should be able to fill the screen when applied to a contact.

Any cure out there??

NWeb

Received a e-message from a USCC EE CS rep late last week who advised NWeb should be up and running for V810 March 8th (yesterday).

Can anyone confirm that they have in fact activated same on their V810?

V810 Liquid Damage

Hi, I'm a newb with a V810 that suffered liquid damage the first week I owned it. The damage must have come from perspiration or condensation because the phone was never dropped in or even near water. I couldn't get the phone to power up and since the liquid damage indicator is pink and I don't have insurance my carrier says it can't be repaired.

I re-activate my V60 and set the V810 aside for a few days. When I go back to the V810, I re-install the battery and the phone powered up. All the keys work consistently except the power up key. If I shut the phone off, I can't power it back on for days sometimes. So I'm considering reactivating the V810 and just leaving it on 24/7.

My question is does this phone sound repairable? After I rem...

Interesting fact about the V810

Just to let everyone know, you can use the Motorola T731 battery on this phone. It fits perfectly, only setback is that is going to have less of a charge and is almost pointless since I couldn't find a housing that would reduce the size of the extended battery pack. So, we can get a smaller battery, but we cannot find a housing that would support it. If anyone has found a smaller housing to fit the smaller battery, please let me know.

pictures from pc to V810

Hello,

I am not sure if this has been mentioned, but one way you can get pictures off your computer and onto the V810 is to email them as attachments to your phone. The pictures need to be saved as .jpg or .gif. I have sent a jpg and and a small animated gif(which is slow, but not that bad for wallpaper) to my phone and all you have to do after reading the message is to hit the "extract" items option, and then save the picture. From there you can do whatever you want. The only thing is US cellular charges $.25 to send a picture message, but I think you get charged to retrieve picture msgs.

The External Display

This is a great phone. Just one setback, the external display goes black after about 30 seconds. I really like the phone, but is there a way to keep the external display on permanently. I really would like to know, if anyone knows.

My Moto v810 is a headache

It is the worst cell phone I´ve ever have.
Problems programing, with the messages, with the battery, with the camera. Are them discontinued in the US? Are they made with mixed spare parts of disposal phones?

V810 software at moto.com

Beware the software ad on motos website. It states you CAN download pics directly from phone to PC via USB cable with the V810. A USCellular rep told me this function worked when I bought the phone.
Now I found out moto's software (powered by BVRP) is basically useless. BVRP has told me Verizon and UScellular has this function disabled.
So now i am in the middle of a product feud with BVRP and UScellular. What a bunch of rats.

Can phonebook entries be copied??

I signed up with U.S. Cellular one month ago after 11 very satisfying years with Ameritech/ Verizon. (Long story that is unrelated to Verizon's product & service.)

I had been following the Motorola V810, which was touted as the successor to the V60 series that I previously had. The V60 proved a tremendous piece of equipment, ergo my high hopes for the V810.

I was amazed by the relatively little information on this V810 Forum relating to the operation of the phone and so much whining about its ultimate unavailabity with Verizon. Thus, the handwriting was on the wall that the V810 would not be a heavily marketed phone. I imagine that this was probably because Motorola wanted to push its limited capability, yet more profitable, Bluetooth ...

Real sounds for v810???

Can the v810 use "real" sounds as a ringtone? I have found one called "Shooting in a Panicked Crowd" that is absolutely hilarious on RingtoneJukebox. I'd live to have that one, but that web site does not feature the v810...yet. If they eventually do, will the v810 work with that?
