Requires data plan

If you want to upgrade to this phone, you must purchase a data plan. This does not make any sense, the i886 is not a smart phone, therefore why does it need a data plan? If I were to have the data package, I would certainly not be purchasing the i886 due to limited funtionality!

Nextel Customer Service is not helpful at all in this matter. They agreed it is not a smart phone, but indicated your phone plan has to have the data package otherwise you are not allowed to upgrade to the i886 unless you add the data plan.

What a joke!

operating system

Is this phone running Android 1.5? The operating system seems to be similar to the I1 without the market access.

Battery Life/SB time

Talk: 4.1 hours max. (245 minutes)
Standby: 120 hours max. (5 days)

R they serious? This phone is a msg device and should have amazing Talk/SB time.

These numbers make you feel like it's 1998 and the only droid you knew were the ones on SW.
