OK PEOPLE THIS IS WHY THERE IS A 10.00 CHARGE ON THE EVO

ok for everyone that is not happy with the 10.00 charge on the evo sorry for ya dont get the phone -and for the people that want to know why it is there- here ya go

evo 10.00 charge

-it has nothing to do with 4g if u are in a 4g area then u get 4g if u are in a 3g area u get 3g- ok thats cut and dry right

-no the 10.00 charges takes off the 5 gig cut off for the 3g so u are not being charged 0.03 for every k u use over on the phone
(ok i say someone say they already get all the 3g they want on there phone yes u do but ur still stupid for knowing nothing about the evo and what it does before talking)

4G speed over USB seems to be faster

I got almost twice faster speed in USB tethering mode. Got 5.5MB down vs 3 over WiFi. What are you getting?

I cannot believe no one is addressing this serious system bug

The fact that contact ringtones seems to be happening all over according to web forums, but no one seems to be providing any answers. I am so surprised that not even a single person is supplying a reason or a solution for this very serious bug.

Custom ringtones not working

I can assign custom ringtones to contacts but when I get a call I always hear the default ringtone instead of the custom one. WTF?

EVO Hotspot & Voice

Hi,

Can someone who has the EVO and the HotSpot option please let me know what happens with the phone when you have it in HotSpot mode (3G) and someone calls your phone? Does it go to voice mail, ring, and if you answer does it impact the HotSpot users? What about if you are using a 4G connection?

Thanks!

Ed

Facebook contact problems. Need help!!!!

It seems that HTC wants to show all of my facebook friends under the phone button. While this is a cool feature, does anyone know how to only link it to certain friends and not show everyone (i.e. not so friendly exs, bosses, etc). I've tried to only link certain people under the "people" tab, but it still shows everyone when you go back to "phone." Anyone have any ideas?

Evo vs Iphone 4

I have done research over and over agian on others getting the iphone 4g and the evo and so far i have figured out if you want plan jane over and over again stick with the iphone all the way but if you want the new and improved completely your own customized phone go with the HTC EVO you will have your own phone not something everyone else has!!!!! Changed my mind...Keeping the EVO 4G

Well, cll me wishy-washy but I have changed my mind about returning my EVO to get an iPhone 4.

There are two main reasons.

1. I have fallen in love with the EVO. The speed on 4G is amazing, the screen is unbeatable (that extra size really takes web browsing on a cell phone to a whole new level), and the device is just so customizable. I also love the fact that it currently has Flight Lite and will hopefully have Flash 10 soon.

2. We wasted our entire day yesterday trying to pre-order an iPhone 4 and we were reminded first hand of just how crappy AT&T service really is when you need them.

So for now the HTC EVO 4G is going to be my primary phone. I hope I do not come to regret the decision...but from what I have seen so far I will...

Erratic Wi-Fi signal

I have read on AC forums that folks like me are experiencing erratic Wi-Fi signal, even in the same room as the router.

Anyone else having this issue? Any workarounds?

You can tether for free!!!!

I downloaded the HTC sync software for the EVO from HTC and used the provided data cord. I plugged in the phone into my Windows 7 enabled laptop and it automatically recognized the connection. Free tethering for all!

IPONE 4G OR HTC EVO?? WHAT DO YOU THINK?

SO I NEVER REALLY COMMENT USUALLY I just read this stuff but I am kinda wondering what everyone thinks!! I work for sprint and have had alot of positive feedback from the evo but have been an at&t iphone user for a couple of years had the first gen iphone and left for a while to try other carriers just as bb storm with verizon and instinct from sprint before andriod was even ava! What does everyone think about these phones?? I love my iphone but like I have read before wallpaper is boring and all the same on all the phones and the evo has a nice clean look not worried about the battery because my iphone has to be charged at least 2 times a day (hints buying a car charger) and also at&t rapes you with there charges just wanting some input!!...

Evo reportedly already having problems

I don't know what the deal is with HTC, they always seem to have buggy hardware.

Evo wont restart/reboot

I've had my Evo for less than a week, love the phone BUT it has crashed twice. The first time Sprint said "send it back, restocking fee of $35, and we don't know when you will get a replacement." Fortunately it eventually started.

Now it has done it again, it hangs (start screens just loop) after replacing the battery and powering it up, any suggestions on how to stop it from hanging when rebooting it?

Calendar

I was able to snag an Evo at the Radio Shack inside Sam's Club. I hate Walmart with a passion but was picking up a prescription and happened to walk by the kiosk and jokingly asked, "do you have any Evos in stock" and one was left. At any rate, I am a bit off task right now...
The calendar... I just don't like it. I am keeping an open mind right now. I currently use a Blackberry curve and the calendar is just amazing on the Blackberry but rather useless on the Evo. I am trying to keep an open mind but the calendar will be the deal breaker for me...plain and simple. The calendar was the same reason, among others, is why I returned the Hero and went back to blackberry.

I am not ready to write a review yet for the Evo. It will be a...

Need help with me evo

I just got an evo today and was setting up my people widget. Put my girlfriend on and linked to her facebook account. After installing everyone I noted that she was further down the list than I wanted her to be. So my though was to delete her then reinstall her. I then did what I though was correct. this was to go into her on the widget, click menu then delete. This did not have the desired effect. She is still in the widget, I think she is still in my contacts (nt sure, seems to be sometimes but not others) her facebook profile seems to have been deleted and I cannot relink to it etc...

So All of you android htc wizzes out there help me undo what I have done.

Thanks in advance

HTC EVO 4G or iPhone 4? I am so conflicted.

I am a long time iPhone user and I do love it. I also do not seem to have any problems with AT&T service where I live. I have also found that AT&T works better in the places I tend to travel to when I am not at home. When I had Verizon our phones would not work in Iuka, MS or in Alaska. Our iPhones work in both places.

Still, I am so tempted to switch to Spring and get the HTC EVO 4G. I am mainly interested in it for two reasons...the large screen and the WiMax service (I am in Portland, OR).

I need to make up my mind because my AT&T contract is up for renewal this month and I need to decided whether to stay with AT&T and get the iPhone 4 or switch. Since I am grandfathered in I would be keeping my unlimited data plan with AT&T so that...
