Production Date

I keep reading about the old (initial phone release/produced) phones having serious bugs while those produced later have had the some of the bugs fixed. When I go into Cingular, how do I determine the production date of the phone to ensure I am not getting the original phones? I don't expect Cingular associates to know or to tell the truth. :-)

V600 - changing the alert for the calendar

So, I've finally decided to install the Mobile PhoneTools do a Bluetooth synch with my V600. Does anyone know if there's any way you can configure the alert for this? I looked in the Setup and the Calendar and there doesn't seem to be anywhere that stands out.

Help would be muchly appreciated.

Thanks!

T-Mobile V600 Phone Book

Just picked up a V600 from my local T-Mobile reseller, and for some reason I can't seem to get the address book to behave the way I would expect.

I've read the numerous posts about the address book, but it sounds like changing the view to "Primary Contacts" would get it to how I would like it (aka not having an entry for each individual number).

When I change the view option in the Phonebook Setup to "Primary Contacts" my listing does not change (people with multiple numbers are sill listed twice). In fact, there is no "Set Primary" option on the menu when I select an entry in the phonebook (per the manual on page 76).

I know that T-mobile made quite a few changes to the software (to fix bugs), but I wonder if this feature got brok...

Using all 4 bands

Everyone knows that T-Mobile doesn't use the 850 band on the V600. But, how exactly does that work? Does the T-Mobile SIM card turn that band off? Is it the software that comes with the T-Mobile version of the V600? Will the V600 still use the 850 band if there aren't any T-Mobile towers around?

Basically, I'd like to be able to use all 4 bands while staying with T-Mobile. I'm wondering if getting an unlocked V600 and putting my T-Mobile SIM card in it will accomplish that.

Voicemail speed dial number

Hi there y'all

I wonder if you could help me please ? - I've just bought an unlocked Orange V600 and inserted my O2 sim into it and is very impressive, except for :-

1. I can't change the #1 speed dial so that it dials 901 and connects to my O2 voicemail - it just says "no answerphone stored" and I can't find an option to change the key allocation/phone number on the settings menu - Any ideas guys ?

2. Does anyone know what settings to put into the email setup to link up to my freeserve home email account (eg. port numbers, etc) - Presently I've inserted the following numbers etc.,

ISP settings - GPRS
email provider - custom
protocol - POP3
user id - burtie.freeserve.co.uk
sending host - smtp.ntlworld.com
sending port - 25
...

Bluetooth Problem with ATT V600

I just got my new V600 from ATT. The phone is great, but I've been having problems getting Bluetooth connections to work. I'm starting to think that there is a problem with the Bluetooth on my phone.

If I search for BT devices with my phone, I don't see any, even though both my computer and my PDA are BT'd.

I can find the phone with my computer and PDA, but can't seem to connect. I also tried using Mobile Phone Tools. Even thought the phone is in "discoverable" mode, Mobile Phone Tools can not find it. BT is on and in discoverable mode. I have no problem connecting the computer and PDA, so the BT on both of those devices is working fine.

Any ideas? Am I being stupid?

thanks

POP3 Email

Currently I have sprint and I am looking to switch to a server provider that allows me to use my phone with my Apple computer. T--mobile and the V600 works with the Apple but my biggest feature I am looking for is I want to be able to check my POP3 email. I don't want to have to use t-zones.

Does this phone have a good POP3 email system? If not can you recommend one that does?

Any thoughts or help would be great!

Thanks

How can I delete pre-installed pictures and tones?

I have hardly any memory left on my phone but I cannot delete the pictures and tones that the phone came pre-installed with. I mark them and select 'delete' it asks me if I am sure and then doesn't delete them. Can anyone help as I really need to free up some space on it and get rid of these?

T-Mo V600-Any problems?

I have had the V600 with T-MO service for about 2 weeks now; no problems whatsoever. Reception seems to be just a little bit weaker than the E715, but is still very good (it works in elevators!) Also, there is a rubber bumper which seems to protect the cover from cracking when you open it.

Has anyone had any problems with the TMO V600? Just curious.

can this phone....?

Is it possible to add more kinds of vibrate options? I like the idea of not being the ass that has a loud phone ring that sounds gay and I'd rather just have it vibrate. Plus it's good for when I'm in the car and listening to music since I'd normally wouldn't be able to hear it. What I don't like is how there are only two different kinds of vibrate options. Is it possible to get more (like the ones most of the other motorola phones had i.e. "pulse") or am I stuck with what was originally on it?

v600 being discontinued?

I've been hearing some rumours that the v600 is going to be discontinued by cingular. anyone know if this is true? Its already unavailable in some zip codes so it looks like it has some juice to it. On the cingular website the v600 is not available in most of the Ny zipcodes (12180 being an example). Who knows anything about this?

Can I update the software on the V600??????

I really like this phone, but unfortunately it has really bad reception. It got to the point that it was pretty much unusable. I would have maybe 5 minutes before i'd get a dropped call. I ended up getting a sony ericsson t616 which is nice...but its not a flip phone and doesn't have a speakerphone which i really like.

I heard T-mobile refused the phone until the Motorola guys got the software right. My question is- If there is a software update, can I get it for my phone. I got my V600 in April when it first came out.

thanks!

Enabled SMS delivery reports for TMobile V600

Ok, got a TMobile V600 and they had Moto address the cracking black bezel by putting a black rubber "bumper" where the flip would rub the body of the phone....it's about time.

Also, if anyone needs to enable SMS delivery reports, could walk you thru it, just figured it out. You'll need USB cable to start.

Enjoy
