Bought the Droid Yeterday...a few issues

1. I have my hotmail accounts pushed to the phone and emails from my inbox that I have deleted on the phone repeatedly keep showing up as "new"

2. If I shut the phone off and try to charge it, it turns on. Also, the backlight stays on while charging.

3. In the (photo) gallery, all pictures are in the same folder. I can't find a way to create a new folder.

Any similar experiences, tips?
Thanks.

MUST READ! If ur device power cycles

Some apps are not 2.0 compatible and could be the culprit on the device power cycles. Check the application properties and if it isnt compatible then remove it

Signal Strength

My Droid does NOT get as good of reception as my LG Dare did. Not sure if this is a Smartphone/Dumbphone thing or a Motorola/LG thing or what. Same area, very different signal strengths. I'm curious as to the opinions from everyone else on their new Droid's signal strength???

A few questions

I just picked up my Droid today and have some questions. Judging from the two employees in the Verizon store and three tiers on the phone, only to be transferred to Motorola with the last "tech support" and get a recording saying they were closed... you'd think this phone was just released an hour ago.
I'm hoping someone here has an answer or two, as nobody else I've asked has. BTW, coming off of BBs.

How do you insert a pause before your password to access your voicemail without having to key in the password? You know, you press and hold the #1, it calls your voicemail, there's a slight pause and your password is then automatically keyed. If I remember correctly, it was a couple ** on my BB.

Why doesn't the backlight go off when the ...

Verizon Data

I read the terms on data and it says you can't use it to stream video or music. Does this work on the Droid? How much is a decent unlimited data contract, and is there really a 5GB cap on the unlimited data on Verizon?

Instant messaging cost text with 29.99 web plan? few questions as well..

Was wondering as ive ordered the phone(has not arrived yet) but heres a few questions the last one im assuming is a no but i'll ask anyway.

-Since im not on the 29.99 Mobile Web/Email package if i send out an AIM/Windows left message to another person does that count as a standard text message or is it covered in the package?

-Can i send ringtones to the phone and save it in the ringtone section of the device?

-I was told by another friend on the Sprint carrier(HTC Hero) that he was able to run emulators/roms on his phone does verizon allow any customizables like this with this phone?(lol i know right).

Thanks for reading and hopefully some answers.

Phone Locks up with everything I do on it.

I just got the phone at 10am yesterday. Took it back to work and started charging it. It rebooted while on the charger after 7 minutes or so. Once fully charged I started to play with it. The first thing I did is click on the Map App. It started loading program and froze screen and locked up. Had to do a hard shut off and restart. It did the same thing 3 times before working fine. I called Verizon Tech Support and they reset the phone to like it came out of the box...all seemed well until I started to use it. I made one call...worked. I thought I would check out the Camera App. I unlocked the phone and clicked on the app. The screen turned black and froze but the bottom lights stayed lit. From here on out the only way to reset ...

Is is possible to turn off the "click" noise when taking a pic?

Help? PC won't recognize this Droid! "Insert Disk!"

Hey, I have a customer whose Droid won't connect to his computer, it merely prompts him to "insert disk."

He's been calling technical support for assistance, but VZ directs him to Motorola and then he spends hours on hold before he has to give up and move on with his life.

He is very seriously considering returning the phone over this.

Can we help him? Anyone know a solution?

Streaming audio/video on Browser

I am trying to listen to streaming audio in the Browser, such as NPR radio, but haven't figured out how to do that yet. Anyone gotten that to go yet? Or, streaming video?

I've found the free aps for radio-like stations that create songlists for you to listen to but I wish to listen to NPR.

Thank you.

Dumped AT&T!!! Got the Droid

I left Verizon for AT&T so I can have the iPhone. Great phone..****ty service. I never experienced more dropped calls-EVER!!!

I was a verizon customer from the start. I've had my same phone number for almost 15 years. Why I left Verizon, I can't figure it out.

So I bought the Driod. It is no iPhone killer but who cares? I don't. If you want an iPhone, then go to AT&T. I'm happy with this phone. I've owned a BB Storm (worst phone ever owned) and a BB Tour (MISS IT STILL).

I like the open source concept and am happy that Motorola finally listened and got this right. There will always be people who complain about "this isn't right" or "it's not an iPhone." Oh well!!!

Need a phone that can sync email and calendar

Here's the deal:
I use Windows Live Mail on my PC. With it I can sync email, contacts and calendars with my Hotmail account. I also do this with my laptop and I can access the same information through a browser on any computer. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a portable device - preferably a phone - that can do this without the additional steps of installing Outlook and ActiveSync. I have gone that route using Motorola Phone Tools and it hasn't been reliable.

I'm wondering if the Droid (or any Verizon phone) has the ability to sync Hotmail OTA? I also have a Gmail account and I would consider making it my primary account if sync OTA is possible. Thanks in advance.
