Searching for Answers

I just went and tried the Moment. I've been an avid Blackberry user for 2 yrs and ready for a change. My concern is that I will purchase this one and they will come out with a new updated version of the moment. I've been trying to find some answers or something on the net about it, but can not find it. Does anyone know of a new version of the phone coming out early this year?

Service light

Hey I just got the Moment and I am very curious but has anyone noticed that there is no service light to let you know that there any type of alert( text, email, vioce mail). Does anyone know if there is a service light that I have not found? Phone is really good and I love it so far, phone is solid and I am happier that I got this phone over the Hero, very nice to have to real keyboard and not just a touch screen version.

work email

I'm seriously considering this phone, but wondering how it will handle email from work. Right now I have a BlackBerry, and my company pays some kind of licensing fee for push email. Does the Moment use ActiveSync or another technology? Are there any fees involved? How is the security? Thanks in advance for your help!

Blank camera with default app

Not sure what I did, but when I bought the phone the camera worked perfect. Not sure if I installed a certain app or changed a setting, but now every time I open the default camera or camcorder app my phone wont display anything (not even the menu) but it will still take pictures and save it. Any ideas?

Also anyone know ho to sync my Facebook phonebook with my phone's phonebook?

THANKS!

My Moment went into a coma this morning

Was trying NFL Live, after about 30-40 seconds, screen goes blank. Pressed the End/Power key, discovered the phone had shut itself off. I pressed & held the key to turn back on & got nothing. Retried 3 times, no joy. I.then plugged into the charger, & the phone was not charging. I removed the battery, waited 20 seconds,then re-installed the battery and was able to restart the phone,although some settings were changed. It seems to be working normally again now. For how long? Had mine for just over a week. And the battery was at 90%. Has anybody else had this weirdness happen with their Samsung Moment ?

Phone as Modem

Currently I have a Blackberry 8330 and I have been thinking of upgrading but I really need to know if the phone has the ability to use as a modem like my Blackberry does? Does anyone know is this is possible?

Has anyone tried?

Anyone tried to voicedial over bluetooth headset? I recently tried a different Android based phone and to my dismay, found that the phone did not respond to bluetooth voicedial. After some checking, I found out the issue was at the OS level with Android OS. Since the Moment uses voicedial by Nuance, I was wondering if this overcomes the shortcomings of the OS?
I love the Android OS but not being able to voicedial "handsfree" is a dealbreaker.

BATTERY PROBLEM

I'm not sure if this is an iscolated incident or not but my battery will not last 8 hrs with limited use. There is a discussion going on about it @ androidforums.com. I exchanged my first one the day after I got it and am still having the same issue with my new one. Other reviews I have read seemed to have had no problems with battery. Is it a bad batch of phones/ batteries??

Pause/Wait

I am trying to program a pause or wait so that I don't have to enter my external voicemail box number and password number. However, I don't see any options to add a pause, and "t" and "w" don't enter on the keyboard for the phone number. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

WIFI

I'm looking at buying this phone but have read some treads on different sites of problems connecting to routers. Has anyone had any problems with this? Please let me know.
I'm looking at replacing my BB Curve.
Any info would be helpful.

Pandora Problems?

So far I really like the phone, it does everything I need and makes it fun to have a phone again. I am however finding that pandora is being a bit quirky it hesitates a at least twice a song, more if I'm trying to do anything else at the same time i.e. text message or browse the web. Sometimes it will skip the song without me coming close to touching the next button. I downloaded the task killer app and that seems to help a bit if I only want to run Pandora, but that kind of defeats the point of me choosing the phone with the faster processor and memory if it can't multitask, even the task killer doesn't eliminate the problem completely. I've also updated to the padora 1.1.2 and tried to update the firmware as well as powercycling, and leavi...

over in the "Review: Samsung Moment" discussion:

Moment Vs. Hero

Ok so lets discuss the differences

Hero = 5 MP Camera (No Flash)
Momemnt = 3.2 MP Camera (With Flash)

I prefer Flash

Hero = 7 Home Screens
Moment = 3

Advantage Hero... I suppose - 3's enough though

Hero = Touchscreen keyboard
Moment = Large physical keyboard

Advantage = Moment

Screen=

Advantage Moment

... Overall I think the moment is a slightly better phone even though they are both solid.

Pre - Hero - Moment?

Any suggestions on these three phones? I am concerned with the processor on the Hero and the 16 bit screen. The pre has battery life issues and only 8 gb of memory in it and the Samsung Moment may be bulky. Are there widgets like the Hero and is it customizable?

Do all these phones have real HTML internet? Or are they mobile websites?

I want full browsing capability. Also, anyone know how the calling sound quality is on any of these phones?

Any suggestions would help...thanks

Such a nice phone...

for a crap carrier. ::sighs::. Should've been a WCDMA/GSM device and gone to T-Mobile or AT&T.
